When baseball players did not wear gloves

Pitchers knew lots of ground balls and fly balls and throws would not be caught.

Cherokee Fisher, pitcher, Red Stockings 1876 and Grays 1878: 238 innings pitched; 214 runs allowed; 81 earned runs.
