Anniversary

Fifty-five years ago today, I enlisted in the U.S. Army at Shreveport, Louisiana.  In the next four years, three months and 11 days, the Army sent me to Fort Polk, Louisiana; the Republic of Korea; Fort Meade, Maryland; the Republic of Vietnam; and again to Fort Meade. I served with the 1st Cavalry Division, 2nd Infantry Division, 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment and 6th Armored Cavalry Regiment. There were good times and some not so good times in each assignment.
