Women of the world unite! You have nothing to lose but your freedom!

Feb. 1 designated International Hajib Day.

Nazma Khan: (N)o woman is oppressed or imprisoned in her veil, but that it is a choice of free will.

Free will. Riight. Every woman in every Muslim majority country or Muslim majority region has free will by the words given Muhammad, he of the 9-year-old bride.

Not every Muslim woman agrees with Ms. Khan.

Canadian Yasmine Mohammad:

“Women and girls are murdered in countries all over the world for not wearing hijab

“If it’s not the government forcing her, it’s the society, the community or the family

“Even in my country of
#Canada, a 16 yr old girl, Aqsa Parvez, was killed by her family for not wearing hijab

That’s one way to control your citizens

Young Russians under the age of 18 who have led nationwide anti-government rallies in recent years are now banned from attending unauthorized protests under a newly signed law.
Russia’s youth has spearheaded anti-Kremlin demonstrations since early 2017, drawn to the streets by opposition leader Alexei Navalny and his social-media savvy team of organizers. Scores of lawmakers submitted measures criminalizing child protesters shortly after rallies against President Vladimir Putin’s inauguration in May, where authorities were seen detaining children as young as 12.
New amendments Putin signed into law Thursday impose 15 days of jail and fines of up to one million rubles ($14,400) on organizers who “involve minors” in unauthorized rallies.

Forget all that rotten food; have some whiskey, some coffee and put on a few pounds

People who drink moderate amounts of either coffee or alcohol and who pack on a few extra pounds in their 70s tend to live longer than their peers who don’t, according to a new study.
The research out of the UC Irvine Institute for Memory Impairments and Neurological Disorders, called The 90+ Study, began in 2003 to try and determine what, exactly, helps people live well into their 90s, ABC News reported.
The team found that those who abstained from either drink lived shorter lives on average than those who indulged — in moderation — in coffee and booze. Oddly, the scientists also saw that those who were a bit overweight in their 70s continued to live longer than those who were average weight at the same age.

America’s oldest veteran dies

America’s oldest veteran, Richard Overton, who served in the Army during World War II, died Thursday in Texas at the age of 112, reports say.
He had been hospitalized for the last week with pneumonia, his family said.
Shirley Overton, whose husband was Richard’s cousin, said the vet died Thursday evening at a rehab facility in Austin.
Overton, who was also thought to be the oldest living American, was born in 1906 in Bastrop County, just outside Austin, Texas.
Overton was in his 30s when he volunteered for the Army, and was at Pearl Harbor just after the Japanese surprise attack in 1941.
The WWII veteran served in the all-black 1887th Engineer Aviation Battalion from 1942 to 1945, a period that included stops in Angaur, Palau; Peleliu, Micronesia; and Iwo Jima, Japan.

If you say something often enough …

According to Hitler’s propaganda minister, Joseph Goebbels, people will believe it.

Not so much with former President Barrack Obama. In a speech at Rice University, the smartest man in the world said, “American energy production — You wouldn’t always know it but it went up every year I was president,” Obama said.
“That whole, suddenly America’s like the biggest oil producer and the biggest gas — that was me, people.”

Obama has said a lot of stuff more than one time, figuring, as usual, that the American people are too forgetful to remember, and it is so because he stated it.

‘People other than women’ can have menstrual periods

At Princeton, anyway.

Two Princeton groups recently held an event celebrating menstruation where students were told that menstrual periods are not limited solely to women, and that people other than women can menstruate. However, the groups refused to comment or expand on this argument. Princeton feminist groups contacted by The College Fix also declined to discuss the issue.

At the recent “Menstruation Celebration,” hosted by Princeton Students for Reproductive Justice and Princeton Students for Gender Equality, the organizations were “urging people to stop referring to menstruation as a women’s issue, since transgender and non-binary people get periods as well.”

Civil War Christmas in Natchez, Mississippi

Natchez Daily Courier, Dec. 25, 1862

“The peculiar situation of our country, forbids us realizing the usual pleasures and festivities of a Christmas Day, in all their bearings. Fathers and sons are absent in the tented field; many a family mourns the loss of some loved one, struck down by the invader; while others are suffering from the crushing and vindictive acts of the inhuman foe. Under such circumstances, it cannot be expected that homes will look natural, or the inmates gathered about the hearth-stone appear altogether gay. Yet to such of us who may be permitted to greet each other on this occasion of Christmas, we cannot refrain from wishing a happy season. Let us remember those who are absent, and invoke the God of all mankind, that they may be returned to us before another Christmas, with the blessings of Peace to our glorious Confederacy.

“Christmas has been celebrated from time immemorial by the believers in Christ, and many times have the Roundheads of the ancient puritanical stock attempted its suppression. Some of these same Roundhead descendants, at the North, are now the prime movers for the destruction of the South; and should they succeed, it would not astonish us at all to hear of their making, as in ancient days, one grand attempt to destroy the time-honored institution of Christmas. The old Roundheads decided that it was impious to eat cake and drink ale on Christmas; why should the latter-day, Abolition Roundheads hesitate to set aside Christmas day altogether as a season of Christian rejoicing and festivity?

“But we hope the Butlers, the Banks, and all other Cromwellian Roundheads of New England, will be banished [from] the South before another Christmas Holyday.”

These days, you would be hard-pressed to find anyone of Northern heritage, and few Southern, who would see the American Civil War as the English Civil War fought in the New World. But the writer scores a truth in his remonstrance of Northern Roundheads, the English Puritans who sought to decide how others would conduct daily lives and Sunday services. The Massachusetts Roundheads were as bent on control as they were in their own claims of liberty.

The history of the United States is the story of Massachusetts vs. Virginia. John Adams and his followers wanted Washington and Jefferson out of the way, as the Virginians threatened the Progressive Northeast. Nothing has changed.

If you think otherwise, consider the number of Progressive Americans who wish to “set aside Christmas day altogether as a season of Christian rejoicing and festivity.”

A couple of yokels from Flyover Country used facts in bringing transparency to CNN’s fair-haired boy

His mistake was to pick on a small town in the age of the internet. The yokels were able to look up the article and compare his version of reality with their own. More important, they could go to a popular platform and post their reactions to his article, so the world could then compare his work to reality. Michele Anderson and Jake Krohn, who live in Fergus Falls, posted their analysis of the article on Medium. Eventually, it took over a year, Der Spiegel was forced to address the issue publicly. …
The amusing bit is the German media is rushing around looking puzzled, as to how the vaunted fact checking system could have failed. After all, the best people are in control of the media. How could the best people have made such basic errors? As is the case in America, whenever these things happen, the media hand-wringing is just a dodge. What really concerns them is how easy it was for two bumpkins from dirt country to sluice out the facts from the fiction in this particular article.
That’s always the thing with these scandals. The media big shots always come off as if they have been insulted about their shenanigans being revealed. In this case, the other major media outfits are rallying to defend Der Spiegel. In the dreaded private sector, competitors are always quick to take advantage of the mistakes of a competitor. In the main stream media, the opposite is always true. They circle the wagons and begin lecturing the hoi polloi about the dangers of questioning the media

CNN ‘Journalist of the Year’ took money from mouths of Syrian children

That’s in addition to the made-up news stories published by his former employer, Der Spiegel.

“An award-winning [by CNN] German magazine writer who resigned in disgrace for making up stories is suspected of embezzling cash he collected on behalf of children orphaned by the war in Syria, according to his former employer.

“Der Spiegel said Sunday it had uncovered information that Claas Relotius allegedly solicited contributions after writing an article about Syrian urchins living on the streets of Turkey-- but directed donations to his own bank account.

"’Der Spiegel will give all the information it collects to public prosecutors as part of a criminal complaint,’ the magazine said on its website, according to Agence France-Presse.

“The influential publication said it was unaware of the purported charity campaign at the time and didn’t know how much money Relotius, 33, may have raised, apparently by responding to readers who emailed him after reading his July 2016 report.

“A Turkish photographer who worked with Relotius has since claimed that the article has major inaccuracies, and Der Spiegel said Relotius apparently invented the two young siblings who featured prominently in it.”

Huzzah for me

While filing a VA document tonight, I came across discharge orders dated 19 December 1968. That was 50 years ago.

My second set of discharge orders covered the period 15 September 1981-20 April 1990. And, my Texas Army National Guard time was 15 May 1978-14 September 1981.

“Craig’s list is useful, but …, you will lose your faith in humanity dealing with people on there, especially when selling stuff. When buying, either on phone texting or voice I tell them I have cash in hand, here’s hours I’m free to come by and pick up your stuff. The second they start waffling, like, well, I don’t have that item right now, it’s at my cousin’s, I thank them for the time and disconnect. When selling, I swear to dog every nutcase from three states over will look at your listing and get pissed at you for not shipping to them C.O.D. Or they call you up I think just because they’re lonely and just want to talk about your jeep, motorcycle, storage boxes, etc. I’ve got and done good deals, but the ratio of flake/zombie to normal person seems skewed towards idiocy.

On Syria and etc.

This is not 1967 or 1979 or 1991. The USA will pass all those countries in oil and gas production. No Arab country is a threat to Israel. Israel has massive natural gas deposits off shore. The complaints wondering why G-d gave all that oil to the Arabs…People were looking for the wrong thing in the wrong place.

As Commander Salamander put it: “It is only our circus and our monkeys if we stay long enough. Time to go. If we need to come back and break more things and kill more people for a few months, then fine - we'll do it.

Remembering RAF cadets in Oklahoma

“The AT6 Monument is a granite memorial to Royal Air Force cadets who were killed while on a training flight during World War II. It stands on Big Mountain, north of Moyers, Oklahoma, and was dedicated on February 20, 2000—the 58th anniversary of the deadly crashes.

“Word reached British Airways and Air New Zealand of the students’ endeavor. British Airways donated 18 free tickets for the students’ use, and Air New Zealand offered to fly John Wall to the ceremony, free of charge. The students used the British Airways tickets to fly all survivors, plus flier Wright, to Dallas, Texas—for later transportation to Oklahoma. Several members of the British press corps also accompanied the flights, including reporters from the British Broadcasting Corporation and the Daily Telegraph and Daily Mail newspapers, as well as a local newspaper from a county seat.

“The marker was dedicated on February 20, 2000—the 58th anniversary of the crash landings. According to guest registers and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, over 1,000 people crowded onto the mountaintop for the ceremony. News of it was broadcast throughout England, and reported in many newspapers around the world after being carried on the Associated Press wire service.”

(I covered the dedication while working for the newspaper in Paris, Texas. There was a crowd on top of the mountain. The Wikipedia article does not mention the Lord Mayor of London, nor an RAF wing commander, who also were at the dedication, as were the Choctaw Nation Honor Guard and the Moyers High School Band.)

U of Cincinnati considers purge of founder

History now decided by loudest, most ‘progressive’ voice

“On Dec. 10, a campus-wide email was sent out from school President Neville Pinto announcing a ‘Special Commission to Study McMicken.’ The man under the microscope is Charles McMicken, founding benefactor of the university. The email stated the administration was ‘establishing a special university-wide commission to examine the life and legacy of Charles McMicken and the use of his name at the University of Cincinnati.’

‘McMicken, whom the Arts and Sciences College is named after, donated roughly $1 million in real estate to the city of Cincinnati to launch its own public university in 1858. The institution was, in his own words, to educate ‘white boys and girls.’ That, coupled with his ownership of slaves, is the source of the recent criticism — which may culminate in the removal of the McMicken name from any mention at the University of Cincinnati.

“If this is done, which, if recent trends are any indication, is likely, then the administration has their work cut out for them.

“Not only is the school’s McMicken College of Arts and Sciences named after him, but so is a donor recognition society and the commons in the center of campus. It’s even mentioned in the university’s alma mater: ‘None nobler teachings did instill, than old McMicken on the hill.’ Purging the university of the McMicken name is no small feat. Even if it is accomplished, the name will still live on a block away from the campus in one of the most trafficked streets in the area.”

We must keep up the struggle until no one is offended by history.

11-year-old ‘drag queen’ dances for money at gay bar

Nothing to see here. Everything is normal.

Mike Hendren December 20 2018

Just when I think I’ve seen the most repulsive things, someone manages to go yet another bridge too far. What this amounts to, in my opinion, is nothing short of the sexual exploitation of a child. Child Protective Services has removed children from homes for less than this.  Yet, the media at large and apparently millions of people have no problem with it. If you find this acceptable, frankly, you need your head examined.

Early in December, an 11-year-old boy named Desmond Napoles, who appears on YouTube and other places around the web as ‘Desmond is Amazing’, danced in drag at a gay bar in Brooklyn, NY called the 3 Dollar Bill. Sources say the child danced ‘provocatively’ as adult males threw dollar bills at him. You know, as if he were a stripper. As reported by World Net Daily… “in a crop top and full face of makeup as a throng of adult men in the audience showered him in dollar bills.”

This is beyond sick and disgusting. He’s 11 years old!  Where were his parents you may ask? Apparently, right there cheering him on with the rest of the twisted crowd. Yes, mom and dad are sanctioning this garbage. What is wrong with our society? Why are we allowing this to happen? This is an 11-year-old child. No child that age should even be aware of any of this, much less taking part in it. He. Is. A. Child. What part of that does no one understand?

Desmond appeared on ABC’s Good Morning America, strutting down a runway, in drag, to the cheers and delight of the audience. Frankly, it sickens and saddens me to even share this video clip, but you need to see the GMA hosts and audience cheering this on.

Let’s change this up a bit. What if it were an 11-year-old girl, dancing at strip club or any other kind of club for that matter. Would you be outraged? Of course, you would. And CPS would break their necks removing that girl from whatever home setting she was living in. And, furthermore, someone would damn sure go to jail. But yet, here we have an 11-year-old boy, who’s being hailed as some kind of hero for the LGBTQ ‘community’, and he’s being paraded around like a piece of meat for the entertainment of adults. In any other form, we’d call this pedophilia. Yet this is being hailed as something groundbreaking and even celebratory.

This is out of control and needs to be stopped, but as long as we, as a society, continue to normalize and accept that which is completely out of bounds, it won’t stop. Exploiting a child this way is abuse. I don’t care what you do as an adult. You’re a man who wants to dress up as a woman and parade around this way? Go for it. A woman who wants to dress as a man and engage in the same behavior-be my guest. But stop sexually exploiting children. An 11-year-old boy, or girl, dancing around this way and having money tossed at them (even if fully clothed) for the entertainment of adults is sexual exploitation of a child. There is no other way to characterize it.

Video of the kid is titled “11-year-old trailblazing drag kid ‘Desmond is Amazing.”

I’ll not link to the video.

Kosovo apologist: It’s not our fault!

Failure to join Interpol blamed on…Serbia! And…And secret international backers!

“The government may well be corrupt, incompetent, and staffed by many senior figures with links to criminality and violence but one might ask, ‘who enabled such people to come to power after NATO’s intervention and who supported them ever since?’

“The current political elite could not have maintained their stranglehold over Kosovo without the support of various powerful international backers who chose to turn a blind eye to their “state capture” in return for their unwavering deference, and a series of concessions that have led Kosovo to gradually become something of a vassal.

Here’s a suggestion: If you are going to blame others for your problems, at least tell their names.

And, it’s the Balkans. Nothing is ever anybody’s fault.

Fake news network gave award to fake news reporter

The German magazine Der Spiegel revealed Wednesday that one of its top award-winning journalists fabricated many of his articles, inventing characters, sources, and their quotes “on a grand scale” for many years.

The reporter contributed around 60 articles to Der Spiegel, one of the leading German magazines for investigative reporting. He previously worked for other publications in Europe and won awards such as CNN Journalist of the Year in 2014.

What, they never heard of 'Cancer Ward'?

An investigation has been launched into the discovery of four long-abandoned bodies at a cancer research center in central Moscow, law enforcement authorities told Russian media on Wednesday.
The corpses believed to be dead for more than 10 years were reportedly found during an audit at the Blokhin National Medical Research Center for Oncology on Monday.
“Three wooden boxes were found in the refrigeration chamber, containing four mummified bodies and a person’s skeletonized lower limb,” the state-run TASS news agency quoted Moscow’s chief investigator Yulia Ivanova as saying Wednesday.
The Investigative Committee’s Moscow branch has teamed up with the Roszdravnadzor health care watchdog to investigate the morbid discovery.
Authorities have not yet been able to identify or assess the age of the mummified bodies, TASS reported.
The mummies were found less than a month after the appointment of the research center’s new chief, Dr. Ivan Stilidi.
The research center said the four cadavers, which were handed over to law enforcement, were stored because “they were long unclaimed by relatives.”

Don’t smoke dope and then call police and say you found human remains in a cemetery

Last week a woman who claimed to have found human remains in a Texarkana, Ark., cemetery was arrested after pieces of a mausoleum were allegedly discovered in her Jeep.
Jessica Elaine Davis, 34, allegedly called 911 at 9 p.m. on Dec. 12 while at Woodlawn Cemetery at 3000 County Ave. in Texarkana, Ark.. Davis allegedly reported finding teeth and a skull while using a metal detector, according to a probable cause affidavit used to create the following account. Davis was reportedly covered in dirt and also bleeding from one finger when met by officers in the graveyard.
"Davis then showed me a small, white pebble that she claimed was a tooth," the affidavit states. "Davis then showed me several pieces of mortar that she was claiming to be a skull."
Davis went on to tell the officer that she found six buried pigeons and that she believed "someone was dead at this location."
Davis allegedly led officers to a mausoleum where she claimed to have discovered the "teeth and skulls." The mausoleum appeared to have been recently disturbed as bricks and mortar had been removed.
Davis allegedly admitted to having removed the bricks and mortar while using her metal detector in the area, later adding that she was cleaning the mausoleum because it belonged to her dead Jewish ancestors. Asked for the names of her deceased relatives, Davis allegedly was unable to provide that information but replied, "S***, I don't know. They survived the Holocaust."
While speaking with Davis next to her 2018 Jeep Cherokee, officers allegedly noticed a strong odor of burned marijuana coming from the interior. During a search of the vehicle, officers allegedly found pieces of mortar and rock they believed came from the damaged mausoleum.
Davis was arrested for defacing objects of public respect, a felony offense. She is free on a $5,000 bond. She is scheduled to appear in circuit court in Miller County in January.

A finalist for Quote of the Year, concerning her Jewish ancestors: "S***, I don't know. They survived the Holocaust."

Corn (or maize) did not have a central origin

Domestication of corn, tomatoes and potatoes is an amazing story of Stone Age people observing plants and cross-breeding similar ones to produce famine-ending eras.

“The results at first seemed contradictory, pointing in so many directions that researchers had to trace carefully to make sense of the data. As so often happens in natural history, the answer to the question of where maize was first domesticated and how it spread is that there is no one place, but several. When the genetic connections between the plants were fully mapped, researchers found multiple lineages each overlapping with teosinte to a different degree.

Given changes introduced 9,000 years ago, it is good that no anti-modification environmentalist lived then. Given the genetic modifications, modern rabid-type environmentalists should not eat corn, potatoes or tomatoes.

Go a cousin you really, really like? Try Islam and make it legal

“About 40 percent of the population marries a cousin in Egypt, while the percentage in Jordan is 32 percent. Rates are thought to be even higher in tribal countries such as Iraq and the Gulf states of Saudi Arabia, Yemen and Kuwait. A 2005 BBC survey found that 55 percent of Britain’s huge Pakistani population was married to a first cousin. In many parts of the Islamic world, it’s considered unusual if not offensive to marry someone outside of one’s family or tribe. The pressure to marry a family member can be intense. Western thought leaders are hesitant to broach the subject, perhaps out of fear they’ll be mocked as xenophobic or portrayed as an Islamophobe.

He's not a real Jersey boy

Yesterday I sent an email to the governor of New Jersey. The letter said, “All residents who own firearms magazines of greater than 10-round capacity will turn in those magazines.” HAHAHAHAHAHA!

Reply received today: “Submission of Application for Robert C. Merriman

“Dear Robert: Thank you for reaching out. Our office has begun processing your request and will respond as soon as possible.”

First, I did not submit an application for anything, but simply indicated my belief that Phil Murphy is a threat to his state and to the Republic.

Second, I never reach out to anybody. “Reaching out” is a liberal’s way of trying to make everything nicey-nicey while ignoring their efforts at controlling all we do.

Leda and swan common in Pompeii

ROME (AP) — Archaeologists have found in an ancient Pompeii bedroom a fresco depicting a sensual scene of a goddess and swan.
Pompeii archaeological park director Massimo Osanna told Italian news agency ANSA on Monday that the figure of goddess Leda being impregnated by a swan representing Roman god Jupiter is a fairly common theme in Pompeii home decoration.

Swan impregnating Leda “is a fairly common theme in Pompeii home decoration.”

What is it with Roman women and swans?

Good Roman citizens raised kids in a city with images of a swan fornicating with a woman, intent that the kids become good Romans. The parents were successful.

Iranian general fails first rule of firearms safety

Associated Press

TEHRAN, Iran — A Revolutionary Guard general who fought in Syria and Iraq has accidentally killed himself while cleaning a gun.

A Sunday report on the Guard’s website said Gen. Ghodratollah Mansouri earlier today accidentally shot himself in the head while cleaning his pistol.

The report said Mansouri was veteran of the 1980s Iran-Iraq war and a “defender of the shrine,” a reference to Iranians who fight the extremist Islamic State group in Syria and Iraq.

Since 2014, Mansouri was a regional commander of the Guard’s ground forces in the northeastern city of Mashhad, some 900 kilometers east of the capital Tehran.

Walking at the Harvest Festival

The last time my high school had a Harvest Festival was also my freshman year.

Harvest Festival was a week-long event, celebrating agricultural history and achievements. The final event was a public gathering at the school gymnasium, where representatives of each high school class would walk down the middle aisle of folding chairs and then sit in one of the front rows.

Students from each class elected a girl as Harvest Festival Queen. Each Queen selected a boy as her escort, generally with the question, “Would you walk with me in the Harvest Festival?”

The freshman class elected Patricia Minton as Harvest Festival Queen. Patricia sat in front of me in general science class. We often talked before class began and became casual friends. The school had two separate classes, first through eighth grades. I was in the B-designated class; Patricia was the A class, so we had not had much interaction before ninth grade.

Two friends, James and Jimmy, also had general science class with me. Jimmy sat behind me and one row to my right; James sat directly behind me.

About two days after class Harvest Queen election, Jimmy said to James, “Who do you think Patricia will ask to walk with her?” James said, “I don’t know.” Then he said, “Maybe she’ll ask Bob.” Both laughed as though that idea was the funniest they had ever heard.

Funny thing was, I figured she would ask me.

And that same day, not five minutes after Jimmy and James made the funniest joke ever, Patricia did just that. She came into the classroom, sat at her desk, turned, and said, “Would you walk with me in the Harvest Festival?” I said, “Sure.” I don’t remember what James and Jimmy had to say, if anything. My parents and my sisters and brother were quite impressed that Patricia asked me to walk with her.

For the Harvest Festival walk, boys had to wear a white jacket, black slacks, a tie, black shoes and black socks. I did not have a white jacket or a tie. My mother called all her relatives. One, her brother Randall, had a white jacket. Problem was, I was already six feet tall. Randall was not. But, my mother had found a white jacket, and that was the one I would wear. Buying a white jacket was out of the question. My mother did, however, buy a clip-on bow tie for me to wear.

I don’t remember anything about the Festival walk. I think Patricia and I were first, being freshmen and all. I offered her my arm, she took it, and then we walked down the middle aisle of about 200 folding chairs set on the gymnasium floor. The sleeves of my borrowed jacket were about four inches above my wrists. The gymnasium was packed. Any kind of school activity brought out a lot of people.

Somewhere in sophomore year, Patricia and her best friend, Martha Harvey, announced they would graduate a year early. Next school year, Patricia and Martha were seniors, while we lowly juniors still had two years remaining.

Poland arrests seven in people-smuggling ring

Seven suspects of a human-trafficking ring have been arrested near Warsaw in a targeted human-trafficking probe.

The Vietnamese-Polish gang is suspected to have illegally transported at least 100 Vietnamese citizens to Western Europe, PAP news agency reveals.
The illegally smuggled people were taken through Russia, Belarus, Latvia, Lithuania and Ukraine to Poland and from there to Germany, France and Belgium, the PAP report states.

Merry Christmas from a Jewish right-wing website presenter

“I don't particularly care for ‘Happy Holidays,’ in the sense that I want to use my largest knife and gut the utterer of that horrid phrase, then decorate his head with his intestines while I flay him with my sharpest boning knife.

“Wait....did I say that out loud.

“I am immensely pleased to be Jewish, and wouldn't have it any other way, but the reality is that America is, for the time being, a Christian country, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with saying ‘Merry Christmas!’ In fact, it is a rather nice phrase that conjures up notions of kindness and fellowship and happiness and all sorts of anti-SJW sentiments.

“So when you see me on the street, please don't say that horrid phrase. A simple, ‘Merry Christmas’ is a delight, and it is a phrase that should be much more widely used. And if we are going to be honest, Christmas isn't really just a religious holiday any more. It is secular and inclusive and a lovely excuse to smile and be happy and say nice things and overtip and let the earnest but hopelessly incompetent clerk think that he is doing a good job. Life is going to have lots of chances to beat him into the dirt, so maybe you not taking the first swing is a good thing.

“So...From this Jew to you deluded heathens...have a merry Christmas.”
