Here is the headline, from the
online Sydney Morning Herald:
‘Russian links to “yellow
vests” protest to be probed’
In journalism classes, I was
taught to write the headline from the story’s lead paragraph, no lower than the
second graf.
The first mention of Russia
in the Morning Herald story is in paragraph 14. Paragraph 14. Anything
mentioned that far into a story is not truly important.
But, then, I’m not sure
newspaper writers any longer take journalism classes.
Too bad. Taught correctly,
they would know how to do their job.
