Austin COVID requirements cause cancellation of Veterans Day parade

AUSTIN (KXAN) – Gov. Greg Abbott is inviting Austin veterans to celebrate Veterans Day on the south steps of the Texas Capitol building instead of a canceled parade.

Abbott said the Austin Veterans Parade Foundation could hold a rally on the south steps of the building as an alternative to its parade, which was canceled by what Abbott called “Austin City’s excessive demands for COVID-19.
