My observations were not as good as I thought.
My wife said there is an eagle nest in one of the living trees. National Eagle Center says eagles prefer nests in the highest living tree in the area. Most eagle nests I have seen on TV were in dead trees. The largest eagle nest ever found was near St. Petersburg, Fla., was 9.5 feet in diameter, 20 feet deep and weighed almost three tons.
“Eagles engage in
dramatic courtship displays that involve swooping flight, aerial stick
exchanges and cartwheeling.” – nationaleaglecenter dot org. Stick exchanges!
The eagles have to be serious to do stick exchanges in flight.
