A few months into this year,
we were hit with a wave of crazy, as politicians at every level got it into
their heads they had the authority to sign pieces of paper and put us into our
houses, telling us to stay in our rooms until given permission to leave.
In the past two weeks, that
wave of crazy has been reinforced with an outbreak of stupid, as state, county
and city leaders told police to back off and let looters loot.
That stupid carried into the
Pentagon after the president mentioned the idea of using federal soldiers to
re-establish pre-riot order. Generals and civilians questioned whether the
president had the Constitutional authority to do so.
You would think generals knew
history. You can’t successfully fight a war unless you know history.
Former Secretary of Defense
James Mattis showed his lack of education a few days ago by writing this in The
Atlantic:
“When
I joined the military, some 50 years ago, I swore an oath to support and defend
the Constitution. Never did I dream that troops taking that same oath would be
ordered under any circumstance to violate the Constitutional rights of their
fellow citizens …”
Was
a time when Marine Corps Gen. James Mattis was quoted for his common sense
approach to things military, summarized thusly: You hurt my people, I’m going
to kill you with every means available.
But
then, that was before the general got wussified at the Obamafied Pentagon and
the Antifa-friendly Democrats and their MSM allies.
General,
we don’t even recognize you as the same man.
