From UPI
July 7 (UPI) -- A Florida man who
decided to spend the holiday weekend cleaning his home found a months-old
Powerball ticket that turned out to be a $1 million winner.
Kenneth
Morgan, 54, of Jacksonville, told Florida
Lottery officials he bought his ticket for the April 17
Powerball drawing at the Publix Liquor Store in Jacksonville, but the ticket
ended up being forgotten in a drawer.
"I was
cleaning the house on the Fourth of July when I found the Powerball ticket in a
drawer," Morgan said. "I checked the numbers and discovered it was a
$1 million winner -- I'm still in shock!"
Morgan's
ticket matched all five white balls in the drawing, missing only the Powerball
number.
The Publix
Liquor Store was awarded a $1,000 commission for selling the winning ticket.
