“You will hit every cone on the highway before I let you merge in front of me because you saw that sign 2 miles ago like I did."
(I have had drivers lean on horns and gesture angrily at me for not letting them in after they ignored the "Lane Ends" sign two miles back. I returned the gestures.)
Using both lanes up until the actual merge point reduces the traffic back up. Zipper merge at that point is just common courtesy. As a famous man once said, "you can look it up."
ReplyDeleteMerging at the start point is courteous move, not waiting until last minute. Far more drivers merge than become self-interested. Usually, one or two drivers are at the "You have to let me in" point. No, I do not.
