Today is Independence Day in the United States of America

Lots of people will write tens and hundreds of thousand words today about what American Independence meant to the world, about what American Independence still means.

All I’m going to say is, “Thank you, ancestors, who came to the English American Colonies, who arrived here after days and days on small ships because you wanted more and better things for yourself and for your descendants.”

Both my wife and I have ancestors who arrived here in the late 17th century, up to the middle of the 18th century. They saw a future. They made that future possible.
