President Biden promises to cut the cancer death rate by at least 50 percent over the next 25 years.
For 2021,
more than 608,500 people were expected to die from cancer.
Secretary of
Transportation Pete Buttigieg says his department’s goal for traffic deaths is:
Zero.
In 2020,
38,680 people died in traffic accidents.
Biden’s
people make those kinds of statements, knowing attainment is impossible. But,
they sound good. “See, we’re doing something.”
Just on the
outside chance rainbows and unicorn dust settle on the U.S., we need to really
crank up Lunar and Mars settlement programs and start sending people into
space.
