Nimrod is mentioned in Genesis as “a mighty hunter before the Lord…,” with “before” having the same context as part of Commandment 1 – “You shall have no other gods before me,” meaning “in place of me” or “in opposition to me.” Some translations say Nimrod was “a mighty hunter of men’s souls before the Lord,” with the same meaning of opposition.
Nimrod also is mentioned as the king who told his people that under his leadership and direction, they could build a tower reaching all the way to where God lived. “We can be as powerful as God,” Nimrod said. Or, “We can be God.”
Over the
thousands of years since creation of the world and creation of man, people’s
minds have expanded, their thoughts have become liberated, and much of mankind no longer consider one god more or
less than another, or not at all.
There is no
god, no deity gave rules, we can do whatever we wish.
With no need
for rules, we have politicians, actors, CEOs of large corporations, who go by
their own desires and aspirations and expect the rest of us to do the same and to support their lifestyles.
Mary Wiseman,
Tilly on Star Trek: Discovery, for example:
"Before Noah (her husband since 2019),
I dated and loved people of all genders. I never liked it when
straight-presenting women dominated conversations about
bisexuality/pansexuality when I was with women, so I try not to do it now, but
I also don’t want it to feel like I’m hiding anything because I’m queer and
proud!”
Some of what
Wiseman said, I have no idea what she is talking about. But the major part of
her comment is quite to the point, and it comes from the Nimrod credence that “I
am not controlled by anyone else’s beliefs or by anyone else’s rules. I can do
what I want because I want to.” The chaos that results from Wiseman’s
philosophy is none of her doing, of course.
