I just read a piece on what might happen if you are late in recognizing that TSHHTF. Got reminded of a couple of things. Three, actually.
1. 1. Before my youngest deployed to Iraq
the first time, my wife said, “Casey, when you kick in a door, I want you to
kill everybody on the other side.”
2. 2. A few days before that, my
mother-in-law said, “I used to wonder why God sometimes told the Israelites to
kill them all. Now I understand.”
3. 3. I mentioned to Casey a few things
about what to do in a firefight. One was this: The most important thing an
infantry soldier can do in a firefight is pull the trigger. Point your weapon
where fire is coming from and pull the trigger. After that, things get better.
