When I grow up

Yesterday Priscilla read at a kindergarten in North Little Rock, part of her civic club program and because she enjoys reading to children.

The reading had to do with choices and future lives. After the reading, Priscilla asked the kindergartners what they wanted to be.

One boy said, “I want to be a skateboarder.”

Another boy declared, “I don’t want to be nothin’. I don’t like firemen, I don’t like policemen. I don’t want to be nothin’.”

“And then there was sweet, angelic Maria,” Priscilla said. “She had long dark hair and dark eyes, just a beautiful child.”

Sweet, angelic Maria, in her angelic voice, said, “I want to be a vampire.”
