Non-UN-member to head UN bloc of ‘developing countries’

How can a non-country, non-UN member head an official UN group?

Easy. The non-country is Palestine, and 146 anti-Israel UN members said the appointment was OK.

“Palestine’s delegates will be able co-sponsor proposals and amendments, make statements, and raise procedural motions.  They will have these extra rights for the duration of its chairmanship of the Group of 77, the largest bloc of developing nations at the UN. The Palestinians will assume the bloc’s presidency on January 1, 2019, and hold it for one year.

Let’s face it. Most UN countries want two things: money and measures to throw sand into the faces of the United States and Israel. Most UN ambassadors and staffs are thieves, who accept bribes and kickbacks. The US and Israel are pretty much honest in dealing with other countries. If you are the honest council member in a crime-ridden town, you will be outnumbered in votes.
