Not really, but WE ARE
RUNNING OUT OF SAND!!
So says the German Center for
Integrative Biodiversity Research.
Using all that sand “is a
hidden ecological disaster,” says Dr. Aurora Torres, of the GCIBR.
Other than researchers of
sand, no one else knows of the pending super-disaster because “we don’t want to
know what goes on in building a house,” avers Kiran Pereira, of
sandstories.org.
So, humans need to build
fewer houses, highways, buildings, airports and anything else that uses
concrete.
One way to cut down on sand
in concrete is to use plastic, says Dr. Richard Ball of Bath University. Using
plastic in concrete will also lessen the amount of plastic sent to landfills,
Ball says.
Just a guess, but it is
extremely likely that those who want to use plastic in concrete manufacture
also want to limit or end petroleum production.
