Ace
of Spades HQ has a piece on Joan Salvatto Wulff. I had not heard of Wulff, so I
did a search.
One
of the semi-literates who writes at Wikipedia opined:
“When she was 10,
Wulff asked her mother if she could borrow her father’s fly rod, whom she
admired and adored. After a few attempts at casting, the rod came apart, and
the top section slid into the water.”
We have learned that
as a child Joan admired and adored her father’s fly rod, and that said fly rod
came apart after it made a few attempts at casting itself.
I read no more of
the article.
