Scientists
inadvertently bred a horde of unusually aggressive hamsters after a gene
editing experiment to 'reduce aggression' went wrong.
Researchers at Georgia State
University produced new rodents without hormone vasopressin in an effort
to raise 'social communication' between the rodents.
Yet the chemical change turned the
Syrian hamsters wild, prompting fights inside cages.
The ultra-vicious hamsters were
pictured pinning, biting and chasing each other.
