Russian, Ukraine pilots flying nice war story missions, but not hitting targets

From The Aviation Geek Club

For all of the low-altitude bravado persistently demonstrated by Su-25-pilots of both sides, perhaps somebody there wants to remind them that what really matters at war — results. ‘Results’ in air warfare is: ‘ordnance delivered precisely on target’, ‘scoring hits’, destroying enemy. Why? Well, because, the ultimate aim in war is to defeat the enemy — and this aim cannot be achieved by persistently missing the target. This is going so far that one can fly 100,000 combat sorties, fire 2 billion of unguided rockets and cannon shells, and then call himself a ‘hero’ until the Sun comes up in the West — but if not, a single bullet scored a hit, everything was completely in vain.

I have read the SU-25 referred to as “the Russian A-10.” No it’s not. That is insulting to the A-10 itself and to the men and women who fly the Wart Hog. An airplane is only as good as the people who are flying it. In that measurement, U.S. Air Force pilots far, by orders of magnitude, outdistance Russian or Ukraine pilots.
