On June 22, 1941, Adolph Hitler lost his war.
On that second day of that summer, Nazi forces invaded the Communist Soviet Union. More than 3 million German soldiers and airmen, -- with 3,000 tanks, 2,500 aircraft, 3,000 pieces of artillery, and 750,000 horses – crossed into steppe and forest, and the world has not been the same since.
