A
new poll has revealed that most Germans are in favor of reducing or abandoning
Christmas lights entirely to help fight climate change.
The poll, carried out by
YouGov, revealed that 57 percent of Germans who were surveyed reported that
they would limit and stop using Christmas lights altogether due to
environmental concerns, Deutsche Welle reports.
Among those who were surveyed,
11 percent said they wouldn’t have any Christmas lights at all this year to
combat climate change. Another 10 percent said they scrap the tradition in the
future, while 35 percent reported that turning off the Christmas lights was
simply not an option for them.
Regarding whether or not
Germans believe there should be fewer lights on public buildings and in the
streets, opinions were split, with 44 percent in favor of and 44 percent
against. Just 12 percent said they didn’t know.
Germany certainly isn’t alone
in its abandonment of long-held traditions. Elsewhere in the West, such as
Britain and the United States, the simple act of wishing another person Happy
Christmas is now widely considered to be act of aggression against people from
other cultures.
Wishing Happy Christmas
considered an act of aggression.
All you people who find that
aggressive, fuck you. Go back to your shit hole country of origin, where you
can be non-aggressed and live on $1 a day.
