yours if we can’t send it anywhere?” Now, photo shoots are over, the “insurrectionists”
have gone home, and the Guard soldiers can go sleep in a parking garage.
In April 1968, in town for
the MLK riots, armed with an M14 and 20 rounds each, we slept on gym floors and
bleachers. No politicians came by to give us atta-boys. Just as well. Another
week in the Army.
