Ben and Erin Napier of TV’s Hometown are doing a makeover for the Alabama town of Wetumpka.
The town’s 2010 census population was 6,528, with a 2019 population estimated at 8,371. Racial makeup is about 65 percent white and 33 percent black.
Here is a weird demographic:
Wikipedia says that for every 100 women age 18 and over, Wetumpka has 54 men.
They had a lil strip joint right off the interstate back when I lived up the road in Chilton county in the late 80’s. I knew some farm girls would go down and work when they needed the cash. I guess a town with all dudes was ripe for the picking. As they say,” a stiff dick has no budget.”
ReplyDeleteTowns with unusual men/women ratios would be prime candidates for wasting tax money on studies.
