The late Michael Nesmith had a big part in the movie Timerider. Vincent Canby of the New York Times reviewed the movie thusly: “At the point at which I walked out, about 55 minutes into the story, there hadn't been a single characterization, situation, line of dialogue, camera angle or joke to indicate that anyone connected with Timerider had the remotest idea of what he was doing." (Jan. 21, 1983.) Anything deemed that bad by the NYT deserves a look.

I may be crazy (OK, I know I'm crazy), but I enjoyed Timerider. Hadn't thought of that movie in years. May have to watch it again.
ReplyDeleteFF: I’m going to give it a look. The movie has Fred Ward and L.Q. Jones, and those two always give professional performances. Besides, Jones is from Texas. He is 94. Jones was in the Navy, and Ward was Air Force.
ReplyDeleteIt does have its funny moments. It is not a serious movie, but for me it did entertain well for a fairly low budget movie.
