Thirty-three years ago a vein
burst in my brain. Doctors drilled a hole in my skull and went in and did microscopic
stuff and put a stainless steel spring-loaded clip on the part that burst.
I was off duty for 70 days.
During that time, when daily matters became too stressful, I went to sleep.
Some days I slept more than 12 hours, sometimes 14.
I thought then that it would
be a good thing if we all had a switch. We could say to the one who lived with
us and who loved us, “I’m going to turn off for a while. Turn me back on in a
day or so.” And we would have 24 or so hours to dream.
Right now, the crazies
dominate talk and news and such. I mean, crazies like I’ve not seen before in
my 73-plus years. No details are necessary on the screaming Democrats or the
ignorant Republicans. All ignore us. We aren’t inside the Beltway. We don’t
blissfully wade through the swamp every day.
I think I will check out for
a while. Maybe the crazies will shut up.
