The singer has been an Alamo
fan since age 5, when he saw Fess Parker as Davy Crockett on a black and white
TV.
Five years ago, Collins
delivered his collection of Alamo memorabilia to San Antonio. The collection is
valued at $10 million.
“To me, these items aren’t
just about a battle,” Collins said, “they are about the idea of these men and
women having a choice and staying to fight for what they believed to be just
and right. That’s what makes these things special.”
