What I learned upon joining the Army

Urban Puerto Ricans and urban blacks don’t like each other.

Mexicans and blacks don’t like each other.

Urban Puerto Ricans and Mexicans don’t like each other.

Most of us Texan and Southern white boys were working on “Can’t we all just get along?” We were mostly rural raised, and that makes a difference.

Northern white boys were more aggressively racist than were Southerners.

Of course, that was almost 62 years ago. Things have changed since then.
