A Somali woman stabbed to death a 7-year-old British girl in a park.

Just like that. The girl, Emily Jones, witnesses said, was walking past the bench on which the Somali woman sat. The woman stabbed Emily in the throat. Despite efforts by medical people, Emily died.

The Somali woman has been detain under the Mental Health Act.

From the dearth of information at the BBC site, I think there was a wish not to mention a Somali killing an English girl. But the killing did occur, the whole nation knew of the killing, and BBC had no choice but to mention it.
