And: Pelosi counting on “public outrage.”

“House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Thursday said passage of tougher gun controls is ‘inevitable,’ projecting optimism less than 24 hours after the Senate voted down legislation central to President Obama's strategy to reduce gun violence.

"’It's a matter of time," Pelosi said Thursday during a press briefing in the Capitol. ‘It might be inconceivable to the NRA that this might happen; it's inevitable to us.’

“Pelosi did not put a timeline on her prediction but suggested public outrage over the failed Senate effort will eventually force the opponents of tougher gun laws to reconsider.”

In the Pelosi story, The Hill writer claims 93 percent of Americans favour increased background checks. But in a story at The American Interest, we learn: “A Gallup poll on Monday found that after weeks of heated MSM coverage only 4 percent of Americans regard gun control as the nation’s most pressing issue. We would not be surprised if many people in that 4 percent opposed gun control.”

Now, the Gallup poll asked about “the nation’s most pressing issue.” From the 4 percent return on gun control, the polled public has a far different view than do newspeople and the White House.

A few days ago another man who had done a Vietnam vacation told me that when Australia decided to be a Gun Free Zone, blue-helmeted soldiers went in and seized guns from those citizens who declined to give up their pistols, rifles, shotguns and etc. Amazing what you can find out at Walmart.
