* apologizes

Jim Rome on CBS Sports Radio tweeted on New Year's Day: "Is there anyone not in a marching band who thinks these dorks running around with their instruments are cool?"

People were offended. People had their feelings hurt.

Remember: Jim Rome is an *. That’s all you need to know.

Rome, apparently feeling everybody's pain because people’s feelings were, you know, hurt, apologized: "Band nation - I hear you. I was out of line. I apologize," he tweeted. "I do not condone bullying of any kind and that was not my intent."

“Bullying?”

If calling several tens of thousands of people “dorks” is bullying, how wussified is the US of A?

Apparently, very wussified.

(About the *. In Breakfast of Champions, Kurt Vonnegut referred to someone as an “asshole.” On the next page was a page-size *, with the explanation, “This is an asshole.” I laughed and laughed. So remember, Jim Rome is an *. A big *. He does not know what an apology is.)
