At the foot of the Swabian Alb, Bad Urach is known for its spa and therapeutic bath.
The area has been occupied since the early Stone Age. The town became a center for weaving. Wikipedia says: “It escaped serious damage during any wars and so remains in excellent historical condition.”

Avoiding war lends to a non-damaged area.
Interesting language, German. “Bad” references a spa; “bath,” I suppose. In the Army, I wondered when attacking or defending pretend German villages at Fort Hood and Fort Benning, at the designation “Rauthaus.” When learning it means “city hall,” I thought: How appropriate.
Famous people from Bad Urach include Max Friz, one of the three founders of BMW; Cem Ozedmir, politician; and Gunter Parche, criminal.
