A town that could use a few good men

Franklin, Ga., is in Heard County, in the West Central part of the state. Heard County butts up against Alabama.

In the 2010 census, Franklin counted 993 residents, an increase of 91 from the 2000 census. An estimate of 964 was given in 2015.

Franklin’s demographic breakdown showed 69% White and 30% Black. Per capita income was $14,142. That figure leads to an overall poverty rate of 28%, including one-third of those younger than 18 and 30% of those older than 65.

Most towns have a greater population of women, but Franklin’s man-woman breakdown is greater than most, 80 men for every 100 women overall. For the population over 18, the count was 69 men for every 100 women.

TV station takes credit for probation director firing

Nashville man followed law, TV station found out, told everybody.

“The action comes after News4 Investigates first uncovered emails showing collaboration between the department and the U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement in which probation officers were providing information to help track down undocumented immigrants.

“Following the News4 stories, Metro Council members asked Green to resign.

The TV station took it unto itself to decide what was legal. And news organizations wonder why we do not trust them.

Burning the Reichstag

Wondering when the Democrats will trot out their Marinus van der Lubbe.

Not that the Democrats will set the Capitol ablaze, or blow the building to pieces, as in the two-season ABC TV show Designated Survivor, but the lack of any kind of evidence connecting President Trump to any criminal activity, as per the Constitution’s “high crimes and misdemeanors,” plus holding secret sessions until Democratic leadership decides “What do we do now?” means they have to find something, someone to blame for their fiasco.

Hey, let’s be like Sweden!

Yes, because Swedes are smart and progressive and everything is free!

Well, except individual liberty.

By Arthur Lyons

A school in Sweden has imposed vegetarianism on all of its students in a supposed attempt to help combat climate change.

The radical policy has been implemented at the Gitarren Preschool in Umeå and represents the first attempt by a municipal school to eliminate meat on the food menus. All meals served at the preschool will be entirely meatless, and students will not be given the choice to opt-out of the program, Swedish broadcaster SVT reports.

When the program begins in about two weeks, breakfast, lunch, and snacks will be entirely vegetarian, and those who would like to order meat will not be able to. No exceptions will be made.

Teachers claim that the school has only received positive feedback from parents and children.

Markus Sandström, a teacher at Gitarren Preschool, says: “There have only been positive reactions and many are grateful.”

“We believe and hope that this can become permanent. So this is the idea, but it felt a bit drastic to go all out with it right away. We must evaluate properly first,” Sandström added.

The school has hired a dietitian to oversee the rollout of the new menu and to make sure all the children, aged between one and six, are receiving adequate nutrition from the meatless diet.

Despite claiming that all reactions to the new program have so far been positive, Sandström says that he is well aware that the program could be controversial.

“We want to be clear that there is nothing political about this. This is something we do because we think it will have a positive climate impact,” Sandström.

Sweden is at the forefront of imposing climate change ideology onto its population. In September, a Swedish professor suggested that people should begin to think about eating human flesh as a substitute for animal meat to combat climate change.

(Happy, happy Swedish school children! Gaily going to play after a wonderful breakfast of broccoli, cauliflower and carrots, with repeat for snacks and lunch!)

Islands predicted to be covered by ocean aren’t

“In September 1988, the Agence France-Presse (AFP) reported a ‘gradual rise in average sea level is threatening to completely cover this Indian Ocean nation of 1196 small islands within the next 30 years,’ based on predictions made by government officials. …
“The Maldives are among the island nations often held up by United Nations officials as being on the ‘front-lines’ of man-made global warming. The island nation was among the first to apply for Green Climate Fund aid…”
But:” Five new airports will come into operation by the end of the year, Maldives government announced…

And: “The international airport is part of a joint Maldives-UAE project to develop Noonu atoll as an ultra-luxury tourism zone.

Perhaps those ultra-luxury tourism zones are for wealthy climate change people who want to watch the ocean cover their multi-million-dollar houses so they then can say, “We told you so.”

But, that cannot be, for Barrack Obama, running for president in 2008, said those who believed in him could tell their children and grandchildren of being there when he stopped the oceans from rising. Well, maybe he did, because the Maldives are still there.

NY governor shows he doesn’t know history of storms

“Governor Cuomo launched into a climate change-related statement during an interview. Certain weather events 'were not' experienced in New York before climate change. Hurricanes? Not experienced in New York before. Severe weather events experienced recently? Ditto, not before climate change.
“However, in 1635, a hurricane made landfall in the Massachusetts Bay colony. In 1667, a hurricane struck the mid-Atlantic states. In 1693, a hurricane hit Virginia and impacted inlets as far as Fire Island… In New York.
“In October 1743, a powerful storm hit the eastern seaboard and impacted the Northeast. It apparently was a week hurricane or strong tropical storm.
“One common denominator among these dates? They occurred during the Mini Ice Age. Perhaps these powerful storms that we are experiencing all over the country, to include New York, are a symptom of our either being at the beginning of a new little ice age, or about to be in one.”

If we do have a Mini Ice Age, will "the science cannot be denied" global warming people then say, "See? We told you climate change was inevitable"?

Responses to lawyer claims against Round Up on Facebook

All kinds of lawyer groups post ads on Facebook, saying that if you have anything wrong in your health, Round Up caused the problem, and they, the lawyers, can get you the money you deserve. My responses so far, one for each lawyer claim:

I understand Round Up sank the Titanic.

I understand Round Up brought down the Hindenburg.

I understand Benedict Arnold used Round Up on his lawn.

I understand Japanese pilots dropped Round up at Pearl Harbor.

I understand Round Up sank the USS Maine and caused the Spanish-American War.
