Pelosi and JFK? Do the numbers

A Facebook photo shows Nancy Pelosi (age 20) with John Kennedy in 1960. A caption claims Pelosi had an affair with Kennedy for “7 long years.”

Kennedy was killed in 1963. If they were involved when JFK died, that would be 7 minus 3, which would mean the affair began 4 years before the picture was taken.

Pelosi at 20, minus 4 years, means the affair started when she was 16.

If the affair was over when Pelosi was 20, that is 20 minus 7, which equals 13.

Why would anybody believe JFK had an affair with a 20-year-old Pelosi, or a 13-year old Pelosi or any age in between?

Amazing, you say? Not if you are a Democrat

‘This is not what right looks like’

Eight Marines, one sailor drowned in training exercise.

From Military.com

"Transmission fails, the water drive fails, the engine RPMs drop," the former MEU commanding officer said. "Water is coming into the engine compartment through the plenums. It's also coming into the engine compartment through a headlight that was leaking."

That eventually led the generator to fail, leaving the vehicle operating on battery power alone.

"When the transmission failed, the hydraulic bilge pumps were degraded," the former MEU commander added. "... The electric bilge pumps were not operating at capacity, nor was the radio. So we've got a series of mechanical failures that are compounding the danger this AAV is in."

Report found Marines were not properly trained, SOP was not followed and mechanical problems were not found before exercise began.

The Prince formerly known as a soldier

What is it when someone helps out in committing a crime?

 Accomplice, that’s it.

You have to admire the chutzpah of some news orgs assisting NY government in keeping the citizenry under control.

Here’s Gov. Cuomo’s latest dictat:

“New York Will Officially Begin Requiring ‘Vaccine Passports’ On April 2”

Here’s how other news orgs are playing the gov.’s order (emphasis added):

"New Yorkers will be able to pull up a code" – USA Today.

"app that will allow New Yorkers to prove their vaccination status" – NY Post

"a 'vaccine passport' that New Yorkers can use" – deqadline.com

“'vaccine passport' that can be used" – The Hill

And so forth and etc.

Not so many reporting the requirement for a vaccine passport to attend weddings or go to a sporting event, you know, where guards now will stand at the entrance and deliver the line from dozens of black and white movies: “Passport, please. Thank you. Passport, please.”

Somebody give  me a cheeseburger!

Ignoring official opposition, explorers uncover 1917 ‘death tunnel’

From BBC

One night in January last year he led a team that brought a mechanical digger to the spot his father had identified. They dug down four metres, and what they found proved they were indeed at the entrance to the tunnel.

There was the bell that was used to sound the alarm; hundreds of gas-mask canisters; rails for transporting munitions; two machine-guns; a rifle; bayonets and the remains of two bodies.

"It was like Pompeii. Nothing had moved," said one of the team.

Pierre Malinowski then covered up the hole, leaving the place as anonymous as he had found it, and he contacted the authorities. Ten months later, again frustrated by the slowness of the official response, he went public and told the story to Le Monde.

Who was that redheded stranger?

‘A wilderness of lies’

From Taki Magazine

“The logic of the American political class said that a populist firebrand could never win a primary, much less a general election. The system made sure of that after the Perot and Buchanan scares. Trump wins and official Washington has a nervous breakdown trying to expel him from the capital. Eventually they replaced Trump with a dementia patient and the empire no longer makes any sense.

“…Trump was more like Khrushchev, a reformer who failed to reform the system and was pushed out by hardliners. Biden, on the other hand, is a good analog for Yuri Andropov and Konstantin Chernenko, two men long past their prime, who were installed as placeholders. They did not last long and were eventually replaced with a younger man, which is what will happen with Biden.”

Uh, what was that rank again, Colonel?

Army Col. Timothy Holman is the Army’s chief diversity officer. Here is part of his resume, listed at linkedin:

“Chief Executive Officer (Engineer Brigade Commander)

“Vice President (Deputy Engineer Brigade Commander)”

The feminized, pregnant Pentagon

 From American Mind

“We have forgotten why wars are ever fought in the first place. It’s understandable within the broader context of fighting pointless ones endlessly that America has lost the script. Lest we have forgotten completely: war is often about death for the sake of life. War is politics by other means, propelled by fear, honor, and interest, of course, but undergirding any classical definition is the fact that wars are fought so that a people can continue to exist how they please. Women, as conduits of new life in the world, have no place on the front lines of war because they are the thing—the precious, precarious, transcendentally beautiful and powerful channel for the continued existence of the species—that men will go to any lengths to preserve to ensure the honor of his legacy and his progeny. The happy warrior writes himself into the past so that his children may have a future.”

Lest anyone believe the piece written by a conservative man:

“Finally, especially as a recently pregnant woman, the thing that strikes hardest about the entire discourse is the degree to which adult men are willing to completely ignore the fact of women and infant’s prenatal vulnerability. I’m not sure a meaningfully large contingent of our military needs a maternity flight suit, but to the extent that a woman requires such a thing, she is a delusional, malignant careerist and in a sane world would never find herself in such a position. That any one would condone the idea that a mother and child in that precarious period of both of their lives (or any part of their lives postpartum) should be anywhere near guns, helicopters, or big boom boom machines of any sort, let alone areas of the world known for rapist enemy combatants, demonstrates that there is something deeply wrong with their understanding of life itself. “

Disproving the accepted theory of evolution

The one that says everything around us is an accident, a coincidental combination of chemicals and heat.

Draw a horizontal line. The line represents life from its beginning. Somewhere in the space above the horizontal line, draw a vertical line that touches the horizontal line. To the left of the vertical line, all primates are animals. Right of the line, one group of primates is human, homo sapiens.

How did the humans get there? The answer must be (choose one): (1) two animals produced a human; or, (2) a primate born of two animals became human.

Unless you believe God created man, there is no other answer.

Saving collards

The collard greens I've had were always a bit bitter. My mother knew all about collards and mustard greens and turnip greens and poke salat. It's probably more correct to use "Polk salad," but the pronouncement is "poke salat." Give a closer listen to Tony Joe White, and you will hear "poke salat," not "polk salad" as written in lyrics. He also gets it right on "down South." Correct is never "in the South." There are four cardinal directions: down South, back East, up North and out West.

Anyway, saving collard greens.

What caliber do you use?

War the American way

America wages war like the world's biggest NGO, a do-gooding non-profit for which armed conflict is not the sharp end of a nation-state's interest but an act of global stewardship. It's war as the ultimate NPR fund drive: For a pledge of $12 billion, we'll open a schoolhouse in Kandahar and a women's-health clinic in Shah Joy and give everyone a copy of Three Cups of Tea. Six months after the last NATO soldier leaves, there will be no women at the women's-health clinic and no schoolgirls at the schoolhouse. We came, we spent, we left no trace. – Mark Steyn, quoted in Time Magazine, 2011.

SD cancels comic-con, citing COVID, decides to house illegal alien kids

San Diego mayor and health department: Sorry, Comic-con fans. Too many people might bring more COVID. Gotta cancel the gathering.

Biden HHS secretary: Hey, how about putting up some unaccompanied asylum children? You know it’s the right thing to do.

Mayor: Yeah. You bet. Be glad to. Bring forth the unaccompanied children.

From Legal Insurrection

“The Biden Administration is partnering with San Diego to turn the city’s convention center into a temporary shelter to support unaccompanied children seeking asylum in the United States.

“San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria and San Diego County Board of Supervisors’ Chair Nathan Fletcher said Monday that Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra ‘requested our help to house some of the unaccompanied minors at the border,’ saying they ‘knew it was the right thing to do.’”

A press release mentions “our federal partners” and “these vulnerable children.”

About three months ago, Mayor Todd Gloria “signed an executive order calling for stronger enforcement of the COVID-19 local and state public health orders.

“Mayor Gloria said he directed the San Diego Police Department, and asked the City Attorney, to ‘pursue fines and potentially other enforcement actions against public nuisances who choose to endanger the lives of others, and blatantly and egregiously defy the provisions of state and county public health orders.’”

Chechen woman ‘publicly scolded for witchcraft’

 From The Caucasian Knot

The "Grozny" ChGTRK (Chechen State TV and Radio Company) has released a story, in which Adam Elzhurkaev, the head physician of the Centre for Islamic Medicine, publicly reprimanded Zura Dudaeva, a resident of Achkhoi-Martan, for practicing occultism. The woman said that she was not engaged in witchcraft; and the symbols found in her house were parts of her hobby for religion and philosophy.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that since July 2019, the persecution of residents for occultism has intensified in Chechnya. The "Grozny" ChGTRK is regularly publishing reports in which local residents repent of their practicing witchcraft.

"The Koran, the Star of David, crosses ... Zura says that she is simply interested in religion and philosophy. For her, the pentagram is just an asterisk," said the TV journalist, as the ChGTRK reported on the Instagram.

In his turn, Mr Elzhurkaev reminded the woman that "witchcraft" is a grave sin in religion, and urged citizens of the republic "not to trust such charlatans and to seek help from specialized centres."

"Why don't they show their 'clients'? Showing these sorcerers will not fix anything. They will be there as long as there is demand for them," says the user luizagaitieva.

Another part of users have demanded to severely punish residents who practice witchcraft.

Well, hell, everything is fine then

Reporter: How do you square National Guard troops sleeping in parking garages and eating contaminated food with illegal immigrants being put up in hotel rooms?

Psaki: The president called the head of the National Guard … and offered his assistance.

https://gunfreezone.net/i-bet-the-new-guard-ag-will-be-a-disabled-black-muslim-transwoman/

Here’s the deal: Comparing hungry, unsheltered National Guard soldiers with illegals relaxing in hotel rooms with hot water, TV and room service is not part of the narrative. Guard soldiers are supposed to stand behind wire fences or walk guard behind wire fences and be in TV news videos. That was their role. Whatever happens back stage is somebody else’s problem.

Don’t know if the post is true, but I wouldn’t be surprised

“My buddy is in AIT right now and got his 1st extremist briefing the other day. They were told the capitol protestors are enemies of the Army ‘but we still have to protect people like them. For now.’ Note a blindingly bright warning signs in those last 4 words: like them. for now.”

“The Company was asked to give examples of extremism they’ve seen in the US. One guy was from Portland and antifa has ruined his city. Instructor said ‘we aren’t looking to talk about things like that.’”

https://ogdaa.blogspot.com/2021/03/like-them-for-now.html

Here is a piece that says … nothing. A lot of words to convey what we already knew about mandatory briefings.

https://www.militarytimes.com/news/your-military/2021/03/22/some-troops-disappointed-by-check-the-block-extremism-stand-downs-others-laud-commanders/

With all the time and words and pictures spent on the subject, soldiers probably expected to hear more than what they got. Apparently, almost all of the material covered right-wing groups, no lefties need apply for inclusion as dangerous.

Any questions?

US military wants proper think

Was a time initial military entry paperwork included a full page agate list, “Are you now, or have you ever been, a member of any of these organizations?” Several Communist organizations were listed, as was the Klan, possibly the NAACP, several Eastern Europe nationalist anti-Soviet groups, Ukrainian anti-Soviet groups, Spanish Civil War groups, anti-war groups and a whole bunch of organizations I never heard of, but which sounded interesting. The number must have exceeded 100. At some point, the military eliminated the question and the list of undesirables, probably having to do with the First and Fifth Amendments. This now “assessment” and “education,” seem to be the same endeavor.

From Legal Insurrection.

“During military training sessions to address extremism in the ranks, some service members have challenged why the Pentagon is not treating the violence during racial injustice protests last summer as equal to the deadly riot at the U.S. Capitol.

“That the two events are viewed as equivalent by some troops has caught the Pentagon’s attention in its effort to educate service members that extremist views and activity — on either side of the political spectrum — go against the oath they took when they joined the military, the top enlisted leader told reporters on Thursday.”

https://legalinsurrection.com/2021/03/report-woke-pentagon-worried-troops-view-blm-antifa-and-capitol-hill-riots-equally/?eType=EmailBlastContent&eId=7e7e8bda-9a26-40b0-aca4-a65acd988a15

The Pentagon proposes efforts to root out ‘extremism.’

“Tougher enforcement is now under consideration at the highest levels of government.

“Some measures under consideration include: better vetting of incoming recruits, monitoring social media for those in sensitive positions, adding questions about extremism to command climate surveys, a tattoo database so commanders know what to look for, increased training and an accountability mindset that encourages reporting.”

If they won't fix it themselves...

Cromwell dissolves Parliament, 20 April 1653

It is high time for me to put an end to your sitting in this place, which you have dishonored by your contempt of all virtue, and defiled by your practice of every vice.

Ye are a factious crew, and enemies to all good government.

Ye are a pack of mercenary wretches, and would like Esau sell your country for a mess of pottage, and like Judas betray your God for a few pieces of money.

Is there a single virtue now remaining amongst you? Is there one vice you do not possess?

Ye have no more religion than my horse. Gold is your God. Which of you have not bartered your conscience for bribes? Is there a man amongst you that has the least care for the good of the Commonwealth?

Ye sordid prostitutes have you not defiled this sacred place, and turned the Lord's temple into a den of thieves, by your immoral principles and wicked practices?

Ye are grown intolerably odious to the whole nation. You were deputed here by the people to get grievances redressed, are yourselves become the greatest grievance.

Your country therefore calls upon me to cleanse this Augean stable, by putting a final period to your iniquitous proceedings in this House; and which by God's hel and the strength he has given me, I am now come to do.

I command ye therefore, upon the peril of your lives, to depart immediately out of this place.

Go, get you out! Make haste! Ye venal slaves be gone! So! Take away that shining bauble there, and lock up the doors.

In the name of God, go!

From Naval Air Cowman

“January 25 was my Grandpa Wilbur's birthday, and he'd have been 102 this year. He was a hell of a guy, one who had in his early teens hitched on down to Texas to pick grapefruit. It was the depression, and everything wasn't exactly like Steinbeck said. According to what Wilbur said, you could sit around moaning and making up stories about how bad you had it or you could get stuck in and work for pay. When he returned to the ranch after picking season he was riding a new Indian motorcycle and had enough cash to start buying land and farming. Years later in the 1960's we were eating lunch in the local diner. I'd finished my burger but left the potato chips and pickles on the plate. Grandpa cleaned them up, making pickle and chip sandwiches. He was teaching by demonstration. I asked him how he could eat something so yucky, and he shared the concept of being hungry. Being hungry was a condition I'd never experienced and couldn't really understand. It was a good lesson and a good teaching method. Grandpa Wilbur was one hell of a man and a great mentor to me. Many years after his passing I found myself teaching my Dad hands-on ranch labor techniques that Grandpa Wilbur had taught me. In that way, long after his death, Grandpa taught me lessons about human nature and the relationship between dads and sons and grandsons. There's a lot of neat stuff to learn in the process of livin'.

(I never left anything on the hamburger plate, until the last year or two. There are just too many French fries. For a while, I would keep the not eaten fries until next morning, when I would crispy them up real good in the oven and fry two eggs over easy. Crispied up fries and eggs go well together. My parents were 9 and 8 years old when the Depression started, 21 and 20 when the war began. I don’t waste things. My daughter said, “You are a child of children of the depression.” Yep. – Sgt Bob)

California Senate quandary: black woman, Asian woman, Latinix woman…

Gov. Gavin Newsom faces a recall election, but meantime California has a bigger problem: What kind of woman to replace Sen. Dianne Feinstein should she retire before the 2024 election.

From Frontpage Magazine

Newsom replaced now-Vice President Kamala Harris “with a Latino political hack. But that didn't solve anything. Instead, the LA Times and Democrat activists began pressuring Senator Dianne Feinstein, in trouble for being nice to Senator Lindsey Graham, to step down so that Newsom could assign seats based on race, giving one seat to a Latino and another to a black woman.” Harris used up the single Jamaican-Indian coupon.

The governor says he has made up his mind. Sort of.

“California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) pledged Monday that he would appoint a Black woman to replace Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) should she choose to retire before her term is up.

What is a Progressive governor to do? He has no “Americans” from which to choose. His pick for the U.S. Senate must be a woman. But which kind of woman? He decides black. How well will that sit with other noisy factions in California? And, there is the familial Brown-Pelosi faction, which has made no public comment. Oh, and Democrats are big, really big, on “transparency.” But reality says Democrats are an opaque organization.

Stay tuned.

Rod Stewart song: You wear it well

Do what?

We got several packs of dog treats yesterday. Chicken jerky. I call the stuff “turkey jerky” just for rhyme.

Printed above “Jerky Treats” was the claim “Natural.”

“Do what?” I said aloud. How can cut up, cooked, artificially dried, smoked and flavored anything be considered “Natural?” Natural would be if a dog chased down a chicken, killed it and ate it. Natural would be pulling off the feathers and ripping apart the carcass, using natural canine teeth. Natural also would be a chicken farmer seeing the dog eating the chicken and dispatching said dog in some violent manner.

I guess we don’t really expect accuracy in advertising. Honest advertising? Sure. How about “honest politicians” or “accurate news stories” or “nonbiased reporters?”

Like eggs, a dozen or 18 bought at a local store in polystyrene packages. Some packages say “Eggs.” But then you get into “We’re better than you,” a claim on the eggs and buyers.

“Free range eggs.” OK, those chickens wander hither and yon, depositing eggs wherever, and people search for and find the “better than your eggs” eggs. Somehow I do not think those chickens are allowed to lay eggs wherever.

“Cage-free eggs.” Another phrase for the above.

“Vegetarian eggs.” Chickens that don’t eat meat. Really? And here I thought most chickens are fed a diet of beef, lamb, fish, and etc. Also, a “free range” chicken better not be called “vegetarian,” because a chicken will eat anything it can pick up with its beak. Bugs, worms, droppings from other chickens. Chickens are nasty creatures.

And the one I really like: “Organic eggs.” That means the eggs come from a real chicken, right?

Not on the ‘Oil is Bad’ news

A new study led by scientists at the University of Miami (UM) Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science demonstrates that under realistic environmental conditions oil drifting in the ocean after the DWH oil spill photooxidized into persistent compounds within hours to days, instead over long periods of time as was thought during the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill. This is the first model results to support the new paradigm of photooxidation that emerged from laboratory research.

After an oil spill, oil droplets on the ocean surface can be transformed by a weathering process known as photooxidation, which results in the degradation of crude oil from exposure to light and oxygen into new by-products over time. Tar, a by-product of this weathering process, can remain in coastal areas for decades after a spill. Despite the significant consequences of this weathering pathway, photooxidation was not taken into account in oil spill models or the oil budget calculations during the Deepwater Horizon spill.

There’s about a 50% chance the fish you paid for is not the fish you got

From The Guardian

In one comparison of sales of fish labelled “snapper” by fishmongers, supermarkets and restaurants in Canada, the US, the UK, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand, researchers found mislabelling in about 40% of fish tested. The UK and Canada had the highest rates of mislabelling in that study, at 55%, followed by the US at 38%.

In one 2018 study, nearly 70% of samples from across the UK sold as snapper were a different fish, from an astounding 38 different species, including many reefdwelling species that are probably threatened by habitat degradation and overfishing.

Still other samples proved to be not entirely of aquatic species, with prawn balls sold in Singapore frequently found to contain pork and not a trace of prawn.

A 2020 study showed that between 8m and 14m tons of fish are caught illegally every year, the same weight of 15 million to 20 million cows being stolen every year.

One of the eagles is out today. It appeared a few minutes ago as a shadow on the lanai table, then became visible as itself as it flew above the screen. The eagle soared and dived, banked right and left, climbed, turned again, flew straight for a second or so, sailing on an almost-spring breeze. Not one time did it have to flap its wings. Nope, just sailed on the breeze.

Some 6,000 years ago, a parent tucked his child in with a blanket for its eternal sleep. The complete skeleton is being researched by the IAA’s Ronit Lupu and Dr. Hila May from the Tel Aviv University School of Medicine, who estimate it was 6-12 years old, based on a CT scan.

Fittingly, the cloth-wrapped child was discovered in the Cave of Horror. According to prehistorian Lupu, after moving two flat stones, the team discovered that a shallow pit had been intentionally dug beneath the stones that held the child’s skeleton, which was placed in a fetal position and covered with a cloth around its head and chest.

“It was obvious that whoever buried the child had wrapped him up and pushed the edges of the cloth beneath him, just as a parent covers his child in a blanket. A small bundle of cloth was clutched in the child’s hands,” said Lupu. Due to the arid conditions in the cave, the child was naturally mummified. The cloth and other organic materials, including hair and even skin and tendons, were likewise preserved.

Archeologists also found Bible fragments and a 10,500-year-old 25-gallon basket intact.

It ain't over 'til … Well, you know

Setting: Major league baseball game, Cincinnati at San Francisco, bottom of the 9th inning, tie game, 1 out, runners on first and third.

The batter hits a line drive into center field, runner on third crosses plate, game over, right? Except, Reds center fielder Eric Davis is playing shallow. He charges in, fields the ball on one bounce and runs to second base and tags the base, making the base runner from first out, because the runner was lollygagging to second, because the game was over. That makes two outs. Davis turns to throw to first base. The batter who drove in the (presumed) winning run has to touch first. The batter is lollygagging to first, because the game is over. Davis is ready to throw and get the runner for the third out of the inning, which would eliminate the run, leaving the game tied and sending the game into extra innings. Davis is ready to throw to first, but the Reds first baseman is strolling to the dugout, because the hit meant the game is over.

Guard soldiers don't want to stay in DC

"I am concerned that the continued indefinite nature of this requirement may also impede our ability to man future missions as both adjutants general and guardsmen alike may be skeptical about committing to future endeavors.” – Gen. Daniel Hokanson.

“The Pentagon said on Thursday that it will be requesting that governors volunteer full National Guard units rather than individuals.”

(You really think the Pentagon asked governors to “volunteer” units?)

W. Post: We sort of misquoted Trump and pretty much printed a really screwed up story

The Washington Post Issues a "Correction" Which Clarifies That Every Claim Made In Their Story Stating that Trump Told the George Secretary of State to "Find the Fraud" Was a Lie

That’s from Maggie’s Farm. Below is from Fox News.

"Correction: Two months after publication of this story, the Georgia secretary of state released an audio recording of President Donald Trump’s December phone call with the state’s top elections investigator. The recording revealed that The Post misquoted Trump’s comments on the call, based on information provided by a source. Trump did not tell the investigator to "find the fraud" or say she would be "a national hero" if she did so. Instead, Trump urged the investigator to scrutinize ballots in Fulton County, Ga., asserting she would find 'dishonesty' there. He also told her that she had 'the most important job in the country right now.' A story about the recording can be found here. The headline and text of this story have been corrected to remove quotes misattributed to Trump."

What is really telling: “…based on information provided by a source.” OK so somebody tells a reporter, “I heard the president say this in a telephone conversation with the Georgia secretary of state.” And the reporter writes he story. And the newspaper prints the story. Remember that Army lieutenant colonel who told a reporter he talked with someone who overheard one end of a telephone conversation, and the reporter took the officer’s word? Those people never learn. Someone tells them what they want to hear, and they write a story.

In journalism school, that gets you an F. And a talk with a teacher or three.

Just thinking

If all the space ships people have been waiting on to take them from this troubled orb show up at the same time, we will have a very crowded sky. No air traffic control to assign landing sequence, no one to decide where rocket engine shuttles will land in order not to start fires, whether anti-grav shuttles may land in neighborhoods.

That's negative thinking, though. People will continue to wait for their space ship. And that is a good thing. Waiting for the space ship is a sign of hope.

Captain Reynolds declares war on Progressivism

“Y’all got on this boat for different reasons, but y’all come to the same place. So now I’m askin’ more of you than I have before. Maybe all.

“As sure as I know anything, I know this: they will try again. Maybe on another world. Maybe on this very ground swept clean. A year from now, ten, they’ll swing back to the belief that they can make… people… better. And I do not hold to that.

“So no more runnin’.

“I aim to misbehave.”

https://ricochet.com/912659/taking-wisdom-where-you-find-it/

“Those who know nothing of history are free to believe that people were different back then and that we’re better, more enlightened, now. That isn’t true. Sure, many of our laws have improved. Our culture is in many ways better. We’ve jettisoned some toxic baggage over which people have always been divided. Many things are better today than they were two hundred years ago than they were even sixty years ago.

“But we aren’t better. We’re the same as we’ve always been, and we need the same protections – the same Constitutional protections, the same free press, the same suspicion of those who wish to tell us what to do – as we’ve always needed. Because men who seek power and revel in its application have always been with us and always will be with us, and we protect ourselves from them by keeping the seats of power limited and under our ultimate control.

“Progressives don’t understand that. How could they: they know nothing of history and nothing of human nature.”

(I am not a Firefly fanatic. I have watched each episode no more than five times. Maybe six. Or seven. Certainly not 10 times. Serenity, I have watched the same number of times. From the beginning, though, there was that sense that the Alliance demanded obedience so that all under central control would be the same, therefore better humans because all did as they were told. Sounds like Democratic Progressives.)

An unknown battle 3,200 years ago

From Science Magazine

"Before Tollense, direct evidence of large-scale violence in the Bronze Age was scanty, especially in this region. Historical accounts from the Near East and Greece described epic battles, but few artifacts remained to corroborate these boastful accounts. 'Even in Egypt, despite hearing many tales of war, we never find such substantial archaeological evidence of its participants and victims,' UCD’s Molloy says."

"Before the 1990s, 'for a long time we didn’t really believe in war in prehistory,' DAI’s Hansen says. The grave goods were explained as prestige objects or symbols of power rather than actual weapons. 'Most people thought ancient society was peaceful, and that Bronze Age males were concerned with trading and so on,' says Helle Vandkilde, an archaeologist at Aarhus University in Denmark. 'Very few talked about warfare.'”

https://www.sciencemag.org/news/2016/03/slaughter-bridge-uncovering-colossal-bronze-age-battle

As more and more sites come to light, it is increasingly obvious that, as a group, historians have a specific set of beliefs unchangeable by alternate possibilities.  New ideas are accepted only through massive evidence. 'Many people thought ancient society was peaceful…,' the archaeologist says. A Bulgarian archaeologist commenting on the 6,000-year-old Varna cemetery stated that until that find, archaeologists believed people from that time lived in a classless society. That would show archaeologists might know things, but they do not know people.

As my wife said, "All they have to do is read the Bible."

N. Caucus blogger ‘sent to a colony’ for ‘outrageous’ posts

Story from November, 2019, at Media 7:

A video that is both erotic and cartoonish, filmed in a bathroom and shared on Instagram by a blogger in hijab living in the Caucasus, has caused the ire of some users.

Released two days ago, the video of a scandalous blogger living in the Russian North Caucasus made the buzz on the social network Instagram by collecting more than 262,000 views and numerous comments, many of them to show indignation.

The footage shows the veiled young woman spraying herself with the water from her shower, then putting a cosmetic product on her tongue, diving into the water, playing with fire and drinking milk by spilling it on her chest.

Most Internet users did not like his (sic) behavior.

“Don't laugh at religion and the hijab. If you want to do what's in the video, take off your scarf and do whatever you want,”one user said.

“What a shame!” Said another indignantly.

Some Internet users do not exclude that the young woman has thus decided to promote her Instagram account which already has more than 300,000 subscribers. Indeed, the blogger is known for her scandalous approaches that she does not fail to publish on her account. In the summer of 2019, she was fined for shooting guns. She often posts cartoon videos with implicating weapons.

From Caucasian Knot, today.

‘North-Ossetian blogger Malika Djikaeva convoyed to a colony’

The decision of the Supreme Court (SC) of Chechnya, which upheld the verdict to Malika Djikaeva, an Instagram blogger from North Ossetia, has come into force – she has been sent to a colony. The family will appeal against this decision.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Djikaeva was detained in Grozny on March 9, 2020, on suspicion of drug possession; and on December 11, 2020, the court sentenced her to three years in prison. Because of her arrest, Malika cannot receive her regular treatment at hospital, which results in auto-aggression bouts, her advocate, Inara Bedoeva, believes.

Examinations have confirmed that Malika Djikaeva did not use drugs, say the advocate. The girl's relatives are sure that the illegal substances had been planted on her in order to punish her for the shocking video clips posted on the Instagram.

The advocate believes that in Djikdeva’s case there are "violations and clear signs of falsification of material evidence."

"It's a pity that I couldn't get through to the head of Chechnya ... Now, Malika's life has been ruined," Djikaeva's mother, Angela Kudzieva, wrote on the Instagram.

In December 2020, Djikaeva's mother asked Ramzan Kadyrov to "have mercy" and help in the release of her daughter. The relatives were made clear that Kadyrov was not going to help Djikaeva, says her mother.

Let us remind you that Malika Djikaeva gained fame in social networks after posting her shocking video clips. These videos can be painfully perceived by Muslims, but they contain no direct attacks on Islam, Orientalists have pointed out.
