Gov. Gavin Newsom faces a recall election, but meantime California has a bigger problem: What kind of woman to replace Sen. Dianne Feinstein should she retire before the 2024 election.

Newsom replaced now-Vice President Kamala Harris “with a Latino political hack. But that didn't solve anything. Instead, the LA Times and Democrat activists began pressuring Senator Dianne Feinstein, in trouble for being nice to Senator Lindsey Graham, to step down so that Newsom could assign seats based on race, giving one seat to a Latino and another to a black woman.” Harris used up the single Jamaican-Indian coupon.
The governor says he has made up his mind. Sort of.
“California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) pledged Monday that he would appoint a Black woman to replace Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) should she choose to retire before her term is up.”

What is a Progressive governor to do? He has no “Americans” from which to choose. His pick for the U.S. Senate must be a woman. But which kind of woman? He decides black. How well will that sit with other noisy factions in California? And, there is the familial Brown-Pelosi faction, which has made no public comment. Oh, and Democrats are big, really big, on “transparency.” But reality says Democrats are an opaque organization.
