Kadyrov's minor son heads children and youth movement in Chechnya

The Russia's Ministry of Education has agreed to the candidacy of Akhmat Kadyrov, the 16-year-old son of the head of Chechnya, for the post of the regional chairman of the Russian movement of children and youth.

Sergey Kravtsov, the head of the above ministry, has promised to support Akhmat Kadyrov, says the report posted on the YouTube* channel of the "Grozny" Chechen State TV and Radio Broadcasting Company (ChGTRK).

The head of Chechnya has 10 natural children – six daughters (Aishat, Karina (Khadizhat), Khedi (Khutmat), Tabarik, Ashura and Eishat) and four sons (Akhmat, Zelimkhan, Adam and Abdulla). Akhmad Kadyrov, who was named after his deceased grandfather, a former President of Chechnya, Akhmad Kadyrov, was born on November 8, 2005.

Let us remind you that on October 8, 2021, Aishat Kadyrova, the 22-year-old daughter of the head of Chechnya, became the Minister of Culture. In June, she received the Kadyrov Order; she was awarded this highest republic's award due to her family ties, Instagram* users then suggested. On December 25, 2021, Aishat Kadyrova received the medal "For the Protection of Human Rights".

On February 19 this year, another daughter of the head of Chechnya, Khutmat Kadyrova, was appointed deputy head of the secretariat of the head of the republic. Earlier, on December 11, 2020, another daughter of Kadyrov, Khadizhat, was appointed the head of the department of preschool education in Grozny.

VA will change its motto because…well, you know

Since 1959 VA had used a quote from President Lincoln’s second inaugural address: "To care for those 'who shall have borne the battle and for his widow and his orphan.’”

But, that statement says “his” and “widow.” Sexist and non-inclusive, say those who demand change.

The motto “is displayed at most VA facilities, including offices, hospitals and cemeteries…” But, opponents say, it “is androcentric; makes female, gay and transgender veterans feel unwelcome; and could serve as a barrier to health care and services.”

Really? Unwelcome? And how exactly do those words “serve as a barrier” to health care?

Rep. Kathleen Rice (D-NY): "In keeping with Lincoln's focus on equality for all, I'm sure if he were alive today he would say women should be acknowledged as well," and shouldn't be left off the motto "just because they didn't serve back then." Ah, Lincoln’s well-known “equality for all.” Yes, we remember Lincoln’s speeches on the equality of women with men, of his arguments that women should have the right to vote and hold elective office. Rep. Rice, then, wishes to ignore Lincoln’s 1858 speech in which he said that “he had never been in favor of bringing about in any way the social and political equality of the white and black races.”

The VA now will go searching for a Lincoln quote that includes war, women and minorities.
