Hundreds of 5th century Roman coins discovered in Como
Hundreds of ancient Roman gold coins have been
discovered on the site of an old theatre in Como in northern Italy, the
Ministry of Culture said.
The coins date back to the end of the Roman
Empire in the 5th century and were found in a kind of stone urn in the
Cressoni theatre basement, not far from the site of the ancient city of
Novum Comum.
According to Italian media, the coins could be
worth millions of euros.
"We do not yet know in detail the
historical and cultural significance of this discovery but this area is a real
treasure for our archeology," said Culture Minister Alberto Bonisoli on
Facebook.
The theatre, which was inaugurated in 1870 and
later became a cinema before closing in 1997, was due to be demolished to allow
the construction of a luxury residence.
Authorities now plan to suspend work at the
site to allow further excavations, according to local media.
Colleges gone stupid
‘George Mason U. Holds
Separate Orientation for Black Freshmen’
“’This event is
dedicated for the incoming freshman who identify as black or are supporters of
black people. The Black Freshman Orientation will offer ways to be involved at
Mason not only with the black organizations but also mason as a whole. This
event allows incoming students for an outlook on how the Black Community at
Mason is like,’ a Welcome 2 Mason website about the event states.”
Attendance by those “who
identify as black” was not required, and those attending the separate (but
equal?) orientation still had to attend the more diverse and inclusive “regular
orientation, the university said.”
You have to wonder why, when
the idea was broached by the Black Student Alliance, someone in the university’s
approval office did not day, “That would be racist.” And, yes, you might wonder
what the same approval office would say about a White Freshman Orientation.
But, if you wonder about that, then you are a racist.
‘Penn State Math Course
Covers Imperialism and Social Justice’
“(Professor Marc) Fabbri
details several seemingly random environmental efforts in the Great Lakes as
well as the 1965 Clean Water Act signed by President Lyndon B. Johnson in
section three of a course document titled ‘Would the Real Trump University
Please Stand Up,’ obtained by Campus Reform.
“Fabbri asks
students to negate the statement ‘all those who enjoy religious freedom promote
cultural toleration’ after detailing, for nearly three pages, several
academics’ condemnation of imperialism in a section entitled ‘Imperialism,
Hubris and Cultural Intolerance: Threats to Democracy.’”

Let’s see. Red wire, right?
Hamas security official goes BOOM!
“The military wing of Hamas announced the man was
Abdel Rahim Abbas, 42, a local commander of the Hamas security forces.
“The Hamas-run Gaza interior ministry said the
explosion happened at the administrative headquarters for the police’s bomb
disposal unit and was a result of explosive materials catching on fire during
an inspection.
“Police and civil defense units extinguished the
fire caused by the explosion, the ministry added.
“A Hamas security source said he was trying to
neutralize an Israeli munition.
“He did have a
history of dealing with unexploded Israeli ordinance.”
Abbas “was trying to neutralize an Israeli munition.”
Well, there’s the problem right there. Hamas and Hezbollah and Iran’s Republican Guard have in the past arrested squirrels and vultures as Israeli spies and accused Gulf of Aqaba sharks as trained Mossad assassins, so it is only natural that Israeli munitions are trained to recognize when a Hamas security officer has them in his hands.

One nude woman, one nude man, one nude woman…
“The Royal Academy
is to ensure its next exhibition of nudes has an equal gender split of naked
men and women, as it navigates the post-Me Too era.
“The Academy, which has just undergone a major
restructure to celebrate its 250th anniversary, will have almost exact parity
between paintings, sculptures and drawings of male and female nudes in its
forthcoming exploration of Renaissance art.”
As Moonbattery points out: “This will affect quality, as
high-quality nudes featuring women are far more numerous. But quality is not
the top priority.”
