Playing with Iranian minds

‘A very beautiful attack’

Paul Mirengoff

Powerline

We’re learning more about Israel’s attack on Iran’s nuclear facility at Natanz. Initially, the event was reported as a cyber attack and cyber may, in fact, have played a part. However, explosives were the main component.

The Jerusalem Post reports that the attack was carried out through a device smuggled into the facility and detonated remotely. The explosives reportedly took out both the primary and backup electrical systems. (At Natanz, the electrical substation reportedly is 40 to 50 meters below ground.) The initial explosion is believed to have set off secondary explosions, causing even greater damage.

An attack last July was carried out with explosives smuggled into a centrifuge assembly facility at the site. The explosives reportedly were embedded in a heavy table that was brought into the facility. An Iranian official says that this time a desk was used.

(Hmm. Spin up centrifuges to 85 billion rpms. Raid Storage R Us and get tons of hard copy secret stuff. Slip in a von Stauffenberg desk. Iran is fighting well out of its league. Guns 'n ammo to Hezbollah? Easy stuff. Good sandhill propaganda. Capture a US Navy patrol boat? No problem. Outsmart Israeli intelligence? You need a bigger boat.)

Truth

Amos, taking it to the North

“With the people of Israel in the north enjoying an almost unparalleled time of success, God decided to call a quiet shepherd and farmer to travel from his home in the less sinful south and carry a message of judgment to the Israelites. The people in the north used Amos’s status as a foreigner as an excuse to ignore his message of judgment for a multiplicity of sins.

“However, while their outer lives gleamed with the rays of success, their inner lives sank into a pit of moral decay. Rather than seeking out opportunities to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly, they embraced their arrogance, idolatry, self-righteousness, and materialism. Amos communicated God’s utter disdain for the hypocritical lives of His people (Amos 5:21–24). His prophecy concludes with only a brief glimpse of restoration, and even that is directed to Judah, rather than the northern kingdom of Israel (9:11–15).”

Something I learned today

Old Yankee Stadium and the Polo Grounds were across the Harlem River from each other.

Biden ATF choice kind of lies

“At Waco, cult members used 2 .50 caliber Barretts to shoot down two Texas Air National Guard helicopters.” – David Chipman, 2020 Reddit thread.

Well, no.

“While the Branch Davidians did reportedly shoot at and damage a trio of helicopters that were flown over their compound, none were shot down, and no federal agents were injured.

“Although all of the three helicopters sustained damage from weapons fire, none of the National Guard crews or ATF aboard were injured,” reads a House report of an investigation into the siege that was released on Aug. 2, 1996.”

Biden has a man who thinks he is a woman at HHS, and now he wants a confirmed liar to head ATF. Chipman wants gun sales limited to federally-licensed dealers only. That is one step from a complete ban on guns.

City manager fired for promising due process to police officer

From Gun Free Zone

The Brooklyn Center City Council voted to fire Boganey, a longtime city employee, during an emergency meeting, the Star Tribune reported. At the same meeting, the council voted to give the mayor command authority over the city’s police department.

A council member explained why she voted to fire the city manager:

“Council Member Kris Lawrence-Anderson said she voted to fire Boganey out of fear of potential reprisals from protestors if she did not.”

“’He was doing a great job. I respect him dearly,’ Lawrence-Anderson said. ‘I didn’t want repercussions at a personal level.’”

The council member “did not want repercussions at a personal level.” So she thought council membership was going to be all rainbows and a big rock candy mountain? Everybody gets a unicorn! These days, running a city includes making real decisions. “If we just give them what they want” is not a basis for decision-making. It is dangerous. It is a coward’s way out.
