It’s ‘Drive-Through,’ not ‘Fly-Through’

You simply can’t beat a cold treat on a hot summer day. Stopping by an ice cream parlor for a heaping cone can be about as refreshing as a tall glass of water, but generally, that’s a destination worth walking or driving to—not flying.

Apparently, a Canadian man didn’t get that memo when he decided to visit a Saskatchewan Dairy Queen in his helicopter.

On July 31, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police were called to a parking lot near the Dairy Queen in Tisdale, Saskatchewan. According to the received complaint, a helicopter had landed in the middle of what is described as a “high traffic parking lot,” kicking up dust and debris as it landed. The parking lot—which belonged to the town’s middle and high schools—was reportedly empty when the pilot landed, likely because it was a summer Saturday.

After the chopper landed, a female passenger exited and picked up an ice cream cake from the Dairy Queen.

The whole event was witnessed by the mayor of Tisdale, Al Jellicoe. He jokingly told CBC that he “thought somebody must be hungry,” but eventually decided that it was “probably not the right thing to do.”

Eventually, the RCMP received a complaint about the incident and launched an investigation. They determined that a 34-year-old man from Leroy, Saskatchewan—which is roughly 60 miles from the Tisdale restaurant—was flying the aircraft at the time of the incident. They charged him with one count of dangerous operation of an aircraft on Aug. 11. The man was licensed to fly the aircraft, but is still due in court next month since the landing was non-emergency, and therefore illegal under Canadian law.

This isn’t the first time something like this has happened up north. Back in 2009, a pilot set his military-owned CH-146 Griffon helicopter down on a baseball field in Ontario and ordered takeout from an A&W fast food joint. The police were also called out for similar behavior by a Twitter commenter. They posted a video of an RCMP helicopter landing in a field near a takeout restaurant in Alberta, claiming that the occupants landed just to pick up burgers.

Medical levity

Yesterday (Thursday) doctors removed a small cancerous growth from my left cheek. Lab check showed they got it all.

When a doctor came into the treatment room to stitch up my cheek I said, "I guess I'll have to wear a plastic bag over my head when taking a shower."

The doctor and the nurse smiled big smiles.

The doctor said, "I understand ones with drawstrings at the bottom work quite well." I laughed. She said I could shower with no problems. She also said, "Don't shave that side of your face for a week."

Okay. Per doctor's order, I will shave only the right half of my face.

Why not play by their rules?

BLM Chicago claimed the president of Chicago’s Fraternal Order of Police tweeted: “TIME IS UP THUGLIVESMATTER! WERE COMING FOR YOU HOMEBOYS.”

https://gunfreezone.net/its-all-fun-and-games-until-you-kill-a-cop/

One police officer was killed and another seriously wounded in what was described as “an ambush.”

Tracking the tweet showed the message was not send by the police union, but BLM’s only response was to refer the data to its attorney.

For at least the past two years more than 100 people are shot in Chicago every weekend. Chicago police know the identification of some, if not most, of the shooters. Police in every town and city in the US know who the bad guys are.

BLM is a propaganda and political arm for black criminals. It should be treated accordingly.

Something the elitists will never understand

“I’m from Alabama – I can see right through that.” – Pat Buttram, The Times Daily, Florence, Ala., March 1, 2001.

Used to, historians considered Trojan Horse a myth. Now …

Turkish archaeologists excavating the site of the city of Troy on the hills of Hisarlik have discovered a large wooden structure that they believe are the remains of the famous Trojan Horse.

Archaeologists also discovered a damaged bronze plate with the inscription, “For their return home, the Greeks dedicate this offering to Athena.” Quintus Smyrnaeus refers to this plate in his epis poem "Posthomerica."

Archaeologists who claimed they had unearthed remnants of the legendary Trojan Horse in Turkey have now found significant evidence that further supports their claim, according to an article by the Greek Reporter.

Turkish archaeologists excavating the site of the city of Troy on the hills of Hisarlik have discovered a large wooden structure that they believe are the remains of the Trojan Horse. These excavations include dozens of fir planks and beams up to 15 meters (49 feet) long, assembled in a strange form.

The wooden structure was found inside the walls of the ancient city of Troy.

Now, Boston University professors Christine Morris and Chris Wilson believe that "the carbon dating tests and other analyses have all suggested that the wooden pieces and other artifacts date from the 12th or 11th centuries BC."

Morris and Wilson believe with a "high level of confidence" that the structure is linked to the iconic horse. They say that tests have only confirmed their theory.

“This matches the dates cited for the Trojan War, by many ancient historians like Eratosthenes or Proclus. The assembly of the work also matches the description made by many sources. I don’t want to sound overconfident, but I’m pretty certain that we found the real thing!”

The Trojan Horse is associated with the Trojan War, written about by Homer in his epic poems the Iliad and the Odyssey. The Iliad closes right before the war ends, so it does not feature the legendary horse.

The Trojan Horse was used to seize Troy and win the war. The story was prominently featured in the Aeneid by Virgil. Historians have suggested that the horse was an analogy for a war machine or natural disaster.

Archaeologists also discovered a damaged bronze plate with the inscription, “For their return home, the Greeks dedicate this offering to Athena.” Quintus Smyrnaeus refers to this plate in his epis poem "Posthomerica."

There was a time, too, when historians said biblical mention of the Hittites was a literary myth. Later, archaeologists found Hittite cities in Turkey. Of ancient cities and civilizations, we know maybe 10 percent. And that only because someone dug them up.

USAF captain praised for cleaning a latrine

(Not a joke, not from Duffel Blog, not from Babylon Bee. Just another incident in the US Woke military.)

Master Sgt. Wolfram Stumpf

380th Air Expeditionary Wing Public Affairs

AL DHAFRA AIR BASE, United Arab Emirates – Sometimes you have to be willing to step outside of your comfort zone, roll your sleeves down, put that face shield on, and get down to business, literally.

Deployed Captain Erin Walsh, 380th Expeditionary Aircraft Maintenance Squadron officer in charge with the KC-10 Extenders, did just that when she willingly agreed to service the lavatory on one of the “heavies”.

Walsh, whose experience previously was limited to fighter aircraft that don’t have a lavatory, is not one to shy away from learning from her teammates.

With an extensive background working around fighter jets like the F-35A Lightning IIs, F-22A Raptors, F-15E Strike Eagles and F-16C/D Fighting Falcons, it’s easy to see why she could be outside of her comfort zone when it comes to working with the KC-10s.

“With almost eight years of experience working exclusively with fighter aircraft, I knew this deployment with the KC-10s was going to be a unique and exciting leadership challenge,” Walsh said.

However, Walsh was up for the feat, so she jumped right in to conduct the least glamorous maintenance job on the list!

“The best way to lead a team is to gain an understanding and appreciation of what they do, and then do what you can in a leadership role to make their job easier,” she said.

That could mean making sure the team has ample time and equipment to accomplish the mission, or making changes to promote safety, job satisfaction or improve morale, she explained.

“Servicing the lavatory was a first time experience for me,” she said. “You have to experience some of the dirtier jobs to be able to relate to and respect what the Airmen go through every day.”

For those who work with Walsh, it came as no surprise when she was selected as ADAB’s 2nd Quarter Company Grade Officer Award Winner for 2021.

“Captain Walsh has a tenacity to get after aircraft maintenance and take care of her Airmen,” said Chief Master Sgt. Ryan Flynn, superintendent, 380 EAMXS.

“She is always willing to step out and lead from the front,” he said. “It’s been awesome watching her get her hands dirty with the Extender maintainers!”

Maintainers love to see their leadership team out at the aircraft learning about the mission and what it takes to get the KC-10 in the air, Flynn explained.

Staff Sgt. Cody Dillon, aerospace maintenance craftsman, 380 EAMXS, was refreshed by Walsh’s attitude and had high praise for her after providing the hands-on training below the KC-10.

“If she was my troop, and she was confident, I would have no problem signing her off,” Dillon said. “It shows me she has interest in the real goings-on outside of what she hears from the troops and her office!”

Walsh finished up by saying: “I love being out on the flight line with my people. Maintainers have the toughest job in the Air Force. I’m extremely proud to lead this team of KC-10 maintainers. It is an honor to serve with a group of such hard working and professional men and women. Extenders… here comes the BOOM!”

(My comment on the article: “My father was in the USAAF 1941-45, as was one of his brothers. Another brother was in the USAF 1947-68. Any one of them would have said, "All due respect, Ma'am, but just what in hell do you think you are doing?")

Biden to OPEC: Pump more oil, pump more oil!

From Gun Free Zone

“President Joe Biden’s top aides are pressuring OPEC and its oil-producing allies to boost production in an effort to combat climbing gasoline prices that they see as a threat to the global economic recovery.” – mobile.reuters

Biden killed Keystone XL.

Biden cut drilling leases on Federal land restricting drilling in Alaska, New Mexico, and other states.

It’s not global climate change that motivated them to stop drilling and fracking in the US.

They just couldn’t fucking stand a bunch of conservative leaning, no four year degree having, blue collar workers making six figure salaries boosting the local Red economy (New Mexico may be Blue but the oil comes from the Red regions)

That was their motivation.  To fuck over guys with an associates in welding making more money than their kids with BA degrees in Queer Dance Theory from Oberlin.

And in doing so, they harmed our economy, weakened our nation security, and now turning to OPEC, are giving more money to our enemies.

It’s not technically treason but it sure as hell feels like it.

https://gunfreezone.net/i-know-this-isnt-technically-treason-but-it-feels-a-lot-like-it/

Oil prices going up? Must be climate change. I’m surprised Biden-Fauci haven’t blamed climate change for the covids. Or, maybe they did and I missed the announcement.
