In almost 48 years of marriage…

…there have been times my wife thought me strange. As in part of a conversation years and years ago:

Her: What are we going to do with all this leftover pizza?

Me: Breakfast!

Her: I cannot imagine you would eat cold pizza for breakfast.

Me: Who said anything about cold? I’ll put it in the oven until it’s good and crispy and then it will be perfect.

Or, three days ago she got such a deal on blackberries at Costco. She made a big blackberry cobbler, from her grandmother’s recipe. Yum. Last night, all three kids and our daughter-in-law were here for supper. After dessert, my wife asked oldest son and daughter if either or both wanted to take some cobbler home. She said, “Otherwise, I don’t know what I’ll do with all this cobbler.”

I had an answer: “Breakfast!”

That is what I had for breakfast, a small bowl of blackberry cobbler and two eggs. That’s what my wife had, too.
