Your stolen truck runs out of gas? Not a problem.

Well, it is when the responding po-leece ID the pickup.

“Indicted for unauthorized use of a vehicle was (the dumb dude). The 40-year-old Winnsboro man was arrested Dec. 30. Deputies responded on Interstate 30 east of Sulphur Springs to assist a motorist. Upon arrival, deputies were told by the man inside that the truck had run out of gas. A records check showed the truck had been reported to Longview officials as stolen. He gave deputies inconsistent stories as to how he came into possession of the pickup, including borrowing from a friend, renting it and giving a friend narcotics to use it, deputies alleged on reports at the time of his arrest. (Dumb dude) was released from jail later Jan. 30 on $10,000 bond on the charge, according to jail reports.”
