Wussification

Good Morning, America this morning had George Stephanopoulos and five women talking about something, and then there was a lead-in to the next piece – men wearing rompers.

But wait! There’s more!

A company called Spirit Halloween has a Caitlyn Jenner costume for trick or treaters this year. Of course, the touchy-feely class says the costume is “hurtful” and “transphobic.”

Let’s just go ahead and do away with all Halloween costumes, lest gorillas, witches, ETs, ghosts and others have their feelings hurt.

And, British actress Julianne Moore wants to change the name of the Virginia high school she attended. J.E.B. Stuart High just doesn’t make the grade these days. Not for the tender of feelings, anyway. Let’s hope school officials in Virginia see differently. Moore and some movie producer have started an internet petition. That’ll show those Confederate racists, by golly! We started a petition!

‘No Child Allowed Ahead’

“Something strange is happening in the United States. A Canadian friend recently said, ‘I can remember when Americans weren’t afraid of everything.’ Just so. Don’t run on the playground because you might fall. Don’t roughhouse because you might get a bruise. Don’t go outside at high noon because you might get skin cancer. Don’t swim after eating because you might get a cramp. If a child draws a soldier, call a SWAT team because he is a murderous psychopath. Don’t ride a bicycle without a helmet. Fill in the deep end of the pool because someone might drown. Supervise everything. Control everything. Fear everything.

Things we now old men did as boys: BB gun fights. Green pine cone fights. Playground football without helmets and pads. Exploring woods and using long sticks to kill water mocassins. Wading in creeks and ponds. Sitting in trees. Baseball using a rock as a ball. Sword fights with shaved down 1X6 planks or 1X1 boards. Throwing knives.

Of course it is. It always was, because as with all things Liberal/Progressive, the “movement” (1) is for victims only; and, (2) definitions can and do change almost daily.

It’s like kids: Mom, she’s looking at me! Make her stop!

The look-ee is a victim; the look-er is a bully.

A slight digression to introduce a point: In high school, my daughter brought home girls who were having problems with parents or who – in a pregnant girl’s case -- didn’t have a place to stay. (My wife always got approval from parents before the girls could stay.) One girl, who was with us only a couple of nights, said in conversation with a visiting girl, “He’s, like, stalking me? Every time I see him, he’s looking at me.”

A new definition. Looking equals stalking. The same as sexual harassment occurs whenever a woman says it does.

Bullying is whatever anybody thinks it is. As long as the victim fits the Liberal/Progressive parameter.
