(Some people have too much time on their hands. Well, that old saying has to do with people who are not “productive,” who are not cutting down trees or building house foundations or selling goods at the town hardware store. It’s like 50-plus years ago when baseball coaches yelled, “Use two hands!” when a player caught a fly ball and did not cover the ball with his free hand. That old saying came from the days when it was almost impossible to catch a fly or pop up with only the glove hand; a player had to let the ball hit the middle of the glove and then slap his free hand over the ball to keep the ball in the glove. Sometimes a today player will drop a ball because he failed to use his free hand, but that does not often happen. An old infielder said ballplayers of his time did not dive after hit balls, because the best they could do was maybe knock it down. No way would they catch the thing with gloves worn then, and there was always the possibility of injury. So, because of modern gloves, today’s overpaid players take more chances for injury than did players of the 1940s and 1950s.)

(Saudi Arabia cut Tajikistan’s quota of hajj visas from 8,000 to 6,300, which might indicate the Saudis are worried, too.)

But what happens when the Obama administration makes nice with the Iranian government, and all our sort-of friends are asking, “WTF?”

Obama’s dislike of Israel and all things Jewish has made him incapable of seeing differences between Arabs and Persians.
