W. Post: We sort of misquoted Trump and pretty much printed a really screwed up story

The Washington Post Issues a "Correction" Which Clarifies That Every Claim Made In Their Story Stating that Trump Told the George Secretary of State to "Find the Fraud" Was a Lie

That’s from Maggie’s Farm. Below is from Fox News.

"Correction: Two months after publication of this story, the Georgia secretary of state released an audio recording of President Donald Trump’s December phone call with the state’s top elections investigator. The recording revealed that The Post misquoted Trump’s comments on the call, based on information provided by a source. Trump did not tell the investigator to "find the fraud" or say she would be "a national hero" if she did so. Instead, Trump urged the investigator to scrutinize ballots in Fulton County, Ga., asserting she would find 'dishonesty' there. He also told her that she had 'the most important job in the country right now.' A story about the recording can be found here. The headline and text of this story have been corrected to remove quotes misattributed to Trump."

What is really telling: “…based on information provided by a source.” OK so somebody tells a reporter, “I heard the president say this in a telephone conversation with the Georgia secretary of state.” And the reporter writes he story. And the newspaper prints the story. Remember that Army lieutenant colonel who told a reporter he talked with someone who overheard one end of a telephone conversation, and the reporter took the officer’s word? Those people never learn. Someone tells them what they want to hear, and they write a story.

In journalism school, that gets you an F. And a talk with a teacher or three.

Just thinking

If all the space ships people have been waiting on to take them from this troubled orb show up at the same time, we will have a very crowded sky. No air traffic control to assign landing sequence, no one to decide where rocket engine shuttles will land in order not to start fires, whether anti-grav shuttles may land in neighborhoods.

That's negative thinking, though. People will continue to wait for their space ship. And that is a good thing. Waiting for the space ship is a sign of hope.

Captain Reynolds declares war on Progressivism

“Y’all got on this boat for different reasons, but y’all come to the same place. So now I’m askin’ more of you than I have before. Maybe all.

“As sure as I know anything, I know this: they will try again. Maybe on another world. Maybe on this very ground swept clean. A year from now, ten, they’ll swing back to the belief that they can make… people… better. And I do not hold to that.

“So no more runnin’.

“I aim to misbehave.”

“Those who know nothing of history are free to believe that people were different back then and that we’re better, more enlightened, now. That isn’t true. Sure, many of our laws have improved. Our culture is in many ways better. We’ve jettisoned some toxic baggage over which people have always been divided. Many things are better today than they were two hundred years ago than they were even sixty years ago.

“But we aren’t better. We’re the same as we’ve always been, and we need the same protections – the same Constitutional protections, the same free press, the same suspicion of those who wish to tell us what to do – as we’ve always needed. Because men who seek power and revel in its application have always been with us and always will be with us, and we protect ourselves from them by keeping the seats of power limited and under our ultimate control.

“Progressives don’t understand that. How could they: they know nothing of history and nothing of human nature.”

(I am not a Firefly fanatic. I have watched each episode no more than five times. Maybe six. Or seven. Certainly not 10 times. Serenity, I have watched the same number of times. From the beginning, though, there was that sense that the Alliance demanded obedience so that all under central control would be the same, therefore better humans because all did as they were told. Sounds like Democratic Progressives.)

An unknown battle 3,200 years ago

From Science Magazine

"Before Tollense, direct evidence of large-scale violence in the Bronze Age was scanty, especially in this region. Historical accounts from the Near East and Greece described epic battles, but few artifacts remained to corroborate these boastful accounts. 'Even in Egypt, despite hearing many tales of war, we never find such substantial archaeological evidence of its participants and victims,' UCD’s Molloy says."

"Before the 1990s, 'for a long time we didn’t really believe in war in prehistory,' DAI’s Hansen says. The grave goods were explained as prestige objects or symbols of power rather than actual weapons. 'Most people thought ancient society was peaceful, and that Bronze Age males were concerned with trading and so on,' says Helle Vandkilde, an archaeologist at Aarhus University in Denmark. 'Very few talked about warfare.'”

As more and more sites come to light, it is increasingly obvious that, as a group, historians have a specific set of beliefs unchangeable by alternate possibilities.  New ideas are accepted only through massive evidence. 'Many people thought ancient society was peaceful…,' the archaeologist says. A Bulgarian archaeologist commenting on the 6,000-year-old Varna cemetery stated that until that find, archaeologists believed people from that time lived in a classless society. That would show archaeologists might know things, but they do not know people.

As my wife said, "All they have to do is read the Bible."

N. Caucus blogger ‘sent to a colony’ for ‘outrageous’ posts

Story from November, 2019, at Media 7:

A video that is both erotic and cartoonish, filmed in a bathroom and shared on Instagram by a blogger in hijab living in the Caucasus, has caused the ire of some users.

Released two days ago, the video of a scandalous blogger living in the Russian North Caucasus made the buzz on the social network Instagram by collecting more than 262,000 views and numerous comments, many of them to show indignation.

The footage shows the veiled young woman spraying herself with the water from her shower, then putting a cosmetic product on her tongue, diving into the water, playing with fire and drinking milk by spilling it on her chest.

Most Internet users did not like his (sic) behavior.

“Don't laugh at religion and the hijab. If you want to do what's in the video, take off your scarf and do whatever you want,”one user said.

“What a shame!” Said another indignantly.

Some Internet users do not exclude that the young woman has thus decided to promote her Instagram account which already has more than 300,000 subscribers. Indeed, the blogger is known for her scandalous approaches that she does not fail to publish on her account. In the summer of 2019, she was fined for shooting guns. She often posts cartoon videos with implicating weapons.

From Caucasian Knot, today.

‘North-Ossetian blogger Malika Djikaeva convoyed to a colony’

The decision of the Supreme Court (SC) of Chechnya, which upheld the verdict to Malika Djikaeva, an Instagram blogger from North Ossetia, has come into force – she has been sent to a colony. The family will appeal against this decision.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Djikaeva was detained in Grozny on March 9, 2020, on suspicion of drug possession; and on December 11, 2020, the court sentenced her to three years in prison. Because of her arrest, Malika cannot receive her regular treatment at hospital, which results in auto-aggression bouts, her advocate, Inara Bedoeva, believes.

Examinations have confirmed that Malika Djikaeva did not use drugs, say the advocate. The girl's relatives are sure that the illegal substances had been planted on her in order to punish her for the shocking video clips posted on the Instagram.

The advocate believes that in Djikdeva’s case there are "violations and clear signs of falsification of material evidence."

"It's a pity that I couldn't get through to the head of Chechnya ... Now, Malika's life has been ruined," Djikaeva's mother, Angela Kudzieva, wrote on the Instagram.

In December 2020, Djikaeva's mother asked Ramzan Kadyrov to "have mercy" and help in the release of her daughter. The relatives were made clear that Kadyrov was not going to help Djikaeva, says her mother.

Let us remind you that Malika Djikaeva gained fame in social networks after posting her shocking video clips. These videos can be painfully perceived by Muslims, but they contain no direct attacks on Islam, Orientalists have pointed out.
