The Honorable Senator Rand Paul
Senator Paul:
Would you please explain why you sent a letter to my 87-year-old mother-in-law asking her to contribute $25 to $1,000 to the National Association for Gun Rights? She receives a monthly Social Security check of less than $1,500. Does your political philosophy include badgering widows for part of their Social Security? I find your letter most distasteful. Worse, your attempt to get money from an almost 90-year-old woman indicates the state of the modern Republican Party.
