Record lows in The Hottest Year Ever?

Some story a couple of weeks back said “This October was the hottest ever recorded.” Ever recorded. In the history of the world. Not to be left out, August 2019 also was the hottest August ever recorded. Ever. And…And, September 2019 tied the record for hottest September ever recorded. Again, ever recorded. But then the story took a strange curve. “Since 1981,” the story said, with no further explanation. What? Since 1981?

Which kind of leads to every year since, oh, say 2015, has been the hottest year in human recording. Worldwide.

So, how is it we have record low temperatures during The Hottest Year Ever?

“Record-low temperatures from Texas to Maine. Louisiana, Mississippi, Virginia, Illinois, Indiana and Michigan set records not only for the day, but for the entire month of November, according to forecasters.

“At least eight deaths have been blamed on a record-breaking cold spell that still had its grip on much of the country Wednesday morning.

“The National Weather Service said the cold front brought a level of intensity not seen since 1911, more than 100 years ago.”
