To Zena Maxwell: Let it go, already

But, then, the “political analyst, commentator, speaker and writer” makes her living on her own victimness and the perceived persons of color consistently put down, emotionally shackled and otherwise enslaved by privileged white people who control everything.

Examples: “Giving the medal of freedom to a man who has repeatedly defended the enslavement of black people is a bit too rich for me on this 5th day of #bhm.” – Twitter, Feb. 5, 2019.

(For the uninformed, like me, #bhm has something to do with Black History Month. I looked it up.)

“If last night’s faux reality 'worked' on you then I’d like to remind you of baby cages. If you’re in your feelings about him reunifying a family during the speech I need that same energy for the families he’s separated at the border.” – Twitter, Feb. 5, 2019.

MAXWELL: “Maybe I’ll be the only person to say this today. The Iowa caucus is essentially the perfect example of systemic racism. 91% of the voters in Iowa are white. The reason why you see a drop in turnout, I’m just speculating here, it could be perhaps that white children are not in the cages. So when you’re talking about the tangible pain that black and brown people are feeling, they feel a sense of urgency because their kids are being put in cages, right? So if you have 91% white electorate, that sense of urgency may not be reflected in the turnout numbers. I’m not saying that’s the reason for this. It could be a factor.”

(Wow. If there were white children in cages, then more white people would turn out and vote … for something? Against something?

(And this through her agent: “Does your school or conference need a keynote speaker? I give talks on combatting rape culture, #MeToo, politics and feminism.”

(I have grown tired of lots things over the years – NY Yankee domination of World Series in the mid-1950s, worn out phrases from oil company flaks, Communist occupation of Eastern and Central Europe, lies about Israel – and over the past few years I have grown tired of hearing that all the world’s problems were/are caused by white men. All of them. And yet, I have never, not one time, read any story of how non-white women would have made the world a place of peace and tranquility, where all peoples get along and all are equal.

(You know who pays attention to people like Ms. Maxwell? White liberals.)
