“In Kansas City, Missouri, Tho Van Tran showed his gun to a convenience store clerk in an attempt to rob the store. The clerk had his own gun and shot Mr. Tran in the shoulder and held him down until the police arrived.”

Defending what’s mine

“Bobo sends us our first story this morning from Stafford, Virginia where Marcel Brannum, 27 was confronted by a homeowner when Brannum was trying to liberate the homeowner’s $2000 bicycle. The resident called the police and held the criminal at gun point, until the police showed up and the thief dashed. Another local saw him hiding and the police rolled up on him.
“In Middletown, Ohio, Rob LaPine came home from the gym and found scrawny little Zachery Harper in his home and his TV was gone. So Rob dragged him outside and started pounding on him. Rob tossed Zach around his backyard for a while and then took him to the neighbors in a headlock to call the police. They found Rob’s TV at Zach’s house, so…slam goes the cell door.
“There is an update to the story from earlier this week which happened in Palos, Illinois. Four men planned to rob a homeowner, two of them were shot, one DRT and the other made it to the hospital. Well, 19-year-old Brandy Marshall, her sister, Paige Marshall, 20, Sarah Risner, 20, and Tyler Gulli, 23 were all charged with the murder of Anthony Dalton, 19 when it was discovered that Brandy had hatched the plot to rob the victim with help from the others after she had sex with him.
“SSG E sends us another update, from Colerain Township, Ohio 82-year-old Claude Carmical shot an inebriated Erwin Cardenas when the sot tried to force his way into Claude’s house when he mistook it for his uncle’s house. According to the prosecutor, Claude is not facing charges.”

More of those self-defense things that don’t happen …
… according to gun-grabbers, or if an armed citizen attempts to defend himself and his from a bad guy, said bad guy takes citizen’s gun and shoots citizen. Taking of gun and shooting owner happens almost all the time when a peaceful citizen takes on a bottom-feeder, so the Deemocratic/Progressive/Socialists say.
Anyway, stories of good guys stopping bad guys from This Ain’t Hell:
“In Palos County, Illinois, four criminals forced their way into a home where they encountered the armed resident. One was DRT (dead right there), another left a trail of body fluids for the police to find him at the local hospital. Two others were arrested later in their getaway car.
“In Huron Township, Michigan, John A. Wysocki, 19 and Ryoji R. Patton, 22 broke into a home and awakened the resident who lit out after them with his legal, licensed handgun and he caught Wysocki hiding under a car and held him at gun point until the police arrived. Patton captured later.
“In Atlanta, Georgia, a robber pointed a gun at the owner of a jewelry store and demanded that the owner load his wares into a sack. The owner’s son pulled out his own gun and shot the thief three times. The criminal exited the store and collapsed on the sidewalk outside, DRT (dead right there) with a bullet to his neck.
“A thief in Carl Jr’s in Covina, California tried to rob a fellow inside the restaurant with a gun, the intended victim happened to be an off-duty LA police officer who promptly shot the thief DRT (dead right there).”

Hell in a handbasket
Nigerian told she is insensitive to Islam.
A Boston landlord has been ordered to take an introductory course on Islam. As you might expect, the landlord took exception to the order. Now, the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court will hear the case and decide whether a lower court judge may order a citizen to take a course on religion.
The landlord, Daisy Obi, is 73 years old. She is pastor of Adonai Bible Center in Somerville, Mass. She is from Nigeria.
One would think the judge who ordered the courses on Islam might have read a news story or two on murderous, terrorist Muslim activities against Christians in Nigeria. One would think the judge might realize that the Christian pastor already has been introduced to Islam.

A website I read several times a week recently had this to say about the Muslim terrorist murderers of San Bernardino:
One of the murderers “brought their spouse back to the US …”
“(T)he foreign national had said they wanted to be a part of (ISIS) …”
“(T)he foreign national used a false address on their application.”
In each case, the writer is focusing on one (1) person. One person may not be a “they.”
I posted a comment on grammar; singular vs. plural; Progressive attempts at making no things different, but all things the same; and refusal by some writers to recognize the pronouns “he” and “she.”
My comment disappeared. Reckon the web site owner doesn’t appreciate criticism. Here at my place, anyone who wishes to criticize is quite welcome to do so. Honest and accurate criticism usually leads to better writing and thinking.

Armed robber supersized by victim, customers at McDonald’s
“At a MacDonald’s in Buffalo, New York, two guys were standing in line when one decided to rob the other with his gun. A struggle ensued, and the victim was shot. The thief also shot himself in the hand during the struggle. Other customers joined in the fun and disarmed the robber holding him until the police arrived. The article says that neither gunshot wound was life threatening. I wonder why the thief thought that someone in the MacDonald’s line would have enough cash to make it worth his trouble to rob him.”

More on SFC Dillard Johnson

I wrote my other post before reading a post on This Ain’t Hell. Earlier today TAH mentioned: “Several folk sent us the records of Dillard Jay Johnson, the deadliest man in the history of the world, or something. The records seem to be missing a couple of years, and his Silver Star; … His FOIA shows that he served until 2006, but his 2-1, or whatever they call it these days, seems to stop in 2004; But he is listed on the DoD website as a recipient of the Silver Star; Oddly enough, his kills aren’t listed in his records. I know this won’t clear up any of that discussion, but there it is for what’s it’s worth.”
Later, TAH has:
“So, SFC Dillard Johnson emailed us this morning for a phone call, and of course, I complied. Because we’re about the truth, no matter how it shakes out. Johnson acknowledged the fact that we were probably the most fair of the people who were writing about him. I had to remind him that we never doubted his Silver Star after he offered to send us his citation, but, I told we didn’t need it. I told him our that concerns were mostly about the 2700 kills. He told me that number came from his little pocket notebook that all of us NCOs carried. That he’d put in tick marks for the number of weapons and bodies that he counted between sandstorms on the way to Baghdad. He admitted that it probably wasn’t the best way to report “kills” after I told him that if I’d counted weapons from Kuwait to the Euphrates, I’d have beaten his numbers.
“He also admitted that the 2700 kills were a total of his troop not just him and his crew. Johnson also said that the actual book doesn’t refer to that number – it appears on the cover and in the liner notes, but not in the actual text of the book. I just bought the book today, so I’ll let you know if I find the contrary to be true.
“I told Johnson that in the future he should stay away from numbers, math sinks everyone. He said that he wanted to explain the number thing during his Fox & Friends interview, but that Kilmeade never asked the question about the numbers that they had agreed upon before the show.
“Then came the 7,000 rounds of armor piercing ammo that he’d claimed to have fired so that he got cancer from the DU. Johnson admitted that it was a pretty difficult number to swallow, especially since Bradleys only have 900 rounds on board (three hundred in the ready box to feed the gun and another 600 stowed). So 7,000 is at least 8 trips to the resupply point. But he said the number comes from the discussion he had with techs from Redstone Arsenal while he was at Walter Reed being treated for his cancer.
“So next up was the question about Johnson getting booted from the Advanced NCO Course at Benning for wearing an unauthorized CIB. He admitted that it did indeed happen. It also involved an NCO who had it out for him (a common thread through many of his stories). He sent me a copy of his DD 214 (I promised Johnson that I wouldn’t publish it, so, no you can’t see it…take my word for it) and, yes, there’s a CIB on it, along with his Silver Star and four Purple Hearts, six Arcoms seven Army Achievement Medals, 2 awards of a CAB, an MSM and a bunch of other stuff. I only see one Bronze Star Medal for merit, though.
“But, yeah, he did get booted from ANCOC for that incident, he returned in the next class and ended up on the commandant’s list, he says.
“So, that’s about the extent of our talk, I still have his number in case the rest of you have questions you want me to ask him. Trust me the first version I wrote before was better than this one, but the blog ate it during the transition to a new server.”
