City had 21,557 reported rat sightings in Jan.1-Sept. this year. Last year’s sightings in the same period totaled 18,601.
New five-point “rat action plan” will focus on areas of most sightings. Plus, the city council plan “would also require developers to present a rat mitigation plan alongside their construction project blueprint.”
The city is tossing $4.8 million in plans at the furry rodents.
