Propagandized

I had an appointment at the local VA clinic this morning.

Armed with a temperature gun, the greeter shot my forehead and asked, “What are you here for?”

“Blood work. Lab.”

“Well, today’s VA visit is brought to you by Boeing Aerospace and General Dynamics Land Battle Systems.”

I made that up. What he really said was, “Have you had a cough, high temperature, diarrhea, (yada, yada, ad infinitum)?”

“No.”

“Have you been around anybody who has (exhibited a bunch of symptoms I don’t remember)?”

“No.” What do you think would happen if you answered “Yes” to either of those sets of questions? I’m guessing (1) you are not getting in the clinic; and, (2) the greeter will insist that you hie yourself to a medical facility and be tested for the covids. No one is going to answer “Yes. I have had all those symptoms and many more.”

The greeter said, “Do you have a mask?”

“Yes,” I said, “but I prefer to maintain my freedom as long as possible and not put it on until absolutely necessary.”

The greeter said, “I do not see that as a freedom, but wearing a mask so you can take care that you do not yada, yada, etc., and your battle buddy to your right and your left.”

Dick.

I put on my mask.
