While I was looking for an answer to how we got where we are, with any mention of school/teacher responsibility blasted as interference in education, the Texas State Teachers Association web site offered many articles on "Where we are," but none on "How we got here." Go to the site and read the headlines and see the idea war waged that teachers, by their degrees and by training, know more than parents on how to raise kids and certainly are more knowledgeable than parents. As in every other aspect of the culture war, we the people are supposed to get out of the way and let the experts do their self-appointed jobs.
